Fans of Jay-Z, especially, have enjoyed RapGenius.com and breaking down the meaning of the lyrics of several songs. The consistent breaking down of lyrics and multiple opinions on lyrics have made the site a force. As is the case, with success has come opposition and RapGenius.com has met it’s rival.
The NMPA came out with a report today and they are targeting several sites for being unlicensed to share lyrics. RapGenius.com is one of the sites on the list and it has received its notice. There are fifty other sites who are being targeted and were sent take down notices.
The owners of RapGenius.com have released an official statement in regards to the papers filed against him.

Rap Genius is an interactive encyclopedia for annotation of all texts – anyone can upload and annotate texts relating to music, news, literature, religion, science, their personal lives, or anything else they want.”
