Miami Rapper Slick Drop Announces the release of new single “Im On”

In 2005 Slick Drop began to build his name in the city of Miami performing at every whole in the wall and open mic night in the city as Mike Slick. Two years later Slick released his first mixtape “Slick Miami” Vol 1 produced entirely by CP Hollywood (credits include Keri Hilson, Diddy, Trina, Ace  Hood, RickRoss, Pitbull). This mix tape contained a collaborative single with CP called “Dickie Short Sets”. Soon after the music video for ‘Dickie Shorts Sets” became number one on the Video Mix Television countdown.

CP Hollywood remains influential in Slick’s life and music till this day. In 2009 Slick Drop worked under Miami music icon Ted Lucas founder of Slip N Slide Records home to Trick Daddy, Trina, Plies & Rick Ross learning the ins and outs of the music industry while making a salary as a Project Manager. Slick also held the title of Studio Manager for the labels in-house facility. With a creative itch weighing heavy Slick decided to go back to what made him happy. This was creating music. In 2011 Slick began to release a string of records locally building lasting relationships with local DJ’s. Recently Slick’s single “Im Ready” an up-tempo feel good record released in Feb. 2014 took the number 1 spot on the Miami Top 20 Records list containing the hottest signed and local Miami acts.

His music is featured on Dj Nasty’s of WEDR 99 Jamz latest “Memorial Day Weekend” mix tape. Slick Drop is described as “The next big thing” by Miami’s 88.7 FM. Sophisticated lyricism on top of southern production is the best way to describe the direction of Slick’s music.
