Music executive Freeband Double D was gunned down in DeKalb County, Georgia while driving his Maybach on Interstate 20. Police are still attempting to identify suspects in the shooting and authorities have asked the public to come forward with information.
Freeband was known for his association with Futureas well as Young Scooter, and Future hit Twitter with news of the exec’s death. “RIP UNKA #DD#FREEBANDDOUBLE..he called me the wizard & ima live up too it #lafamilia,” wrote Future.
Double D was immediately taken to Grady Memorial Hospital by an off-duty officer where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish pointed out that the shooting, which occurred at rush hour, could have led to more deaths. “We potentially could’ve had an extremely dangerous situation. At this point, we are still looking into the background of this victim,” said Parish according to Global Grind.
