Berner, Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill & More Have Success W/ Mount Kushmore

The Mount Kushmore Wellness Retreat at Mandalay Bay Beach on April 21, served as an unofficial celebration of cannabis legalization in Vegas as of January 2017. Although public consumption is not officially legal, you’d never know it from the sweet-smelling smoke that overtook the crowd.

The night started with Berner and the Flatbush Zombies combating sound issues with high-energy antics and genuine positivity. Both openers returned later, Berner to start a smoke session with B-Real, while Flatbush performed “Still Palm Trees,” with Snoop.

Once Cypress Hill emerged, the adequately baked crowd perked and sparked up. Although the crew was missing DJ Muggs, Julio G, of L.A. radio fame, held the night’s strongest set together seamlessly. The California legends brought authentic showmanship that stood out next to overproduction from the rest of the lineup.

Snoop closed the night out with backup dancers and recorded vocals, which kept his set sounding full, and the crowd ate it up. A few nostalgic hits like “The Next Episode” brought the hype, while others like the over-synthesized version of “Sexual Eruption” fell flat, not connecting with the blissed-out audience.
