Atlanta rapper ‘Lil Hot’ jailed on vehicle theft charges

Atlanta police arrested a local rapper after finding several allegedly stolen vehicles and vehicles with altered ID numbers at a southwest Atlanta home, an agency spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Andrae Wilson, who performs under the name “Lil Hot,” is charged with five counts of theft by receiving a stolen auto, three counts of possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN, identity fraud and driving while license suspended or revoked.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said Wilson, 31, was in possession of a Ford F-150 truck that had an altered VIN when he was arrested.

“Also parked at 3445 Stone Road was a Chevy Avalanche with an altered VIN, a stolen Dodge Charger that was taken from the City of Atlanta and a Bentley that was carjacked from College Park in November,” Jones said in an emailed statement. “Wilson had in his possession the keys for the Ford F-150 and the Bentley.”

Wilson, who is being held in the Fulton County Jail, is also the CEO of Fire Boy Records. According to the record label’s website, “this southern hip hop hustler’s music broke locally in Georgia with his hit single, ‘Baking Soda,’ from his debut album, ‘Back to the Streets.’ ”
