Academy Awards doesn't mean much to me. Usually it's popularity or the more "political correct" winners.

Anyways, I'm not saying Fincher is a bad director or anything like that, obviously he's very talented. I just think recently he's been a bit overrated, especially with the social network (personally, again my opinion, I honestly didn't think it was a great movie at all). Talented, absolutely. Good at what he does? He's great. Just a bit overrated imo. Se7en & Fight Club were fantastic films. Everything since, in my mind, has been pretty average.

What he's really good at is signing on to projects that are really interesting and are typically different stories than what we're used to.
yeah he has changed a bit since his greatest bodies of work (Fight Club & Se7en) but The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo really brought his old roots back out of him and it made you realize he hadnt changed much it was just different types of films he was making. I personally loved The Social Network and it's safe to say if any other director tried pulling it off it wouldnt work. it just impresses me he can pull that shit off that's all. I find it crazy that you dont find Zodiac an amazing movie. just seeing what you like on here it kind of gives you a gage of what people are like and i feel like you'd love it. oh well. again great choice of directors.

I saw Zodiac when it first came out in the theaters and I didn't think it was a great movie, a good movie but honestly it was forgettable (it's been a while since I've seen it though).

I haven't seen the girl with the dragon tattoo yet. Mainly cause I just watched the swedish version last year or so.

I didnt like Zodiac too much at 1st either, then when i realized it's really not suppose to be about the killer that's when i appreciated it for what it was. and Dragon Tattoo releases March 20th with the directors cut or whatever so you might aswell wait.
