The two-hour premiere will kick off 18 hours of what Nevins described as “the pure heroin version of David Lynch,” with the 3rd and 4th hour immediately available to Showtime subscribers after it airs.

We’re excited to announce the premiere date for the highly anticipated, new TWIN PEAKS. The 18-hour limited event series will debut with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, May 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Immediately following the premiere, SHOWTIME subscribers will have access to the third and fourth hours, exclusively across the SHOWTIME streaming service, SHOWTIME ANYTIME and SHOWTIME ON DEMAND. In its second week, TWIN PEAKS will air the third and fourth hours back-to-back on the linear network, starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by one-hour episodes in subsequent weeks.

I just watched the original for the 1st time a few months ago and the movie. That shit is so wierd, cant imagine how i would have felt watching it as a kid. Definitely cant wait for this knowing the production and acting will be better. I guess it will be hard to avoid previews but I will not go out my way to watch

It's insane lol this is more modern lynch tone wise than the origns series. It's dark & scary at times then goofy in the very next scene. It reminds me of multiple eras of lynch scene to scene, sometimes it's lost highway or mulholland drive or eraserhead or even his old shorts. This is as good as you can hope it would be if you're a lynch fan.

i'm gonna try to wait til the sun goes down to watch the next eps to add to the atmosphere lol, its weird this came out in summer it would be much more fitting in the fall/winter but i'm glad they aired it as soon as it was ready.

i saw someone say this is lynch's take on modern tv how the original was his take on the tv of the time. before it was based on soap operas & murder mysteries, this seems like lynch has been watching a bunch of cable tv shows, like fx/tnt/usa dramas lol.

to me this is the continuation of all the cop/interrogation scenes from his modern films & fleshing out all the sinister elements hinted at in stuff like mullholland drive.

Yeah man i'm really into this. I agree, its Lynch taking every technique and style he's done in his career and applying it to the Twin Peaks universe. Some of the stuff even reminds me of his experimental short films. I think it might be too heavy for people who liked Twin Peaks the soap opera, but for David Lynch fans this is pretty great.
