You're missing the point Gemini. The soundtrack is for the NWA movie. The movie is based on the guys who influenced the music game during the 90's East/West coast rap wars. The point isn't about it being 2015 today, we all know what fucking year it is. It's about what years the movie covers. Consider yourself brought up to speed.

Ummmm... That was the films & videos F. Gary Gray directed not the N.W.A. Soundtrack. Consider yourself brought up to speed.

honestly NWA was garbage
As for the time, what really compared though?? For the time, the DOC comes to mind, Too Short was doing the thing, skaters were getting their giggles off of 2 Live Crew, and the EastCoast was holding down, with Mix-A-Lot in the mix with a bombshell down the road from there!! So, compared to what??

I think there is the role of DOC in the movie. not sure how big of a character he is in the movie, but he did have a huge role in the success of Ruthless and The Chronic. JJ Fad had probably Ruthless's biggest single but that was dance shit. DOC probably had Ruthless's biggest "gangsta" (radio) single.

I know he wrote on Eazy Duz It but I think the album was damn near all written by Ren. Maybe Eazy had some concept ideas.

Without NWA there would be no......

Snoop Dogg
Tha Dogg Pound
Nate Dogg
Warren G
The D.O.C.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Westside Connection (W.C. And Mack 10)
Above The Law
Tha Eastsidaz

and a load more of affiliates connected to the NWA tree

It's endless

Far from garbage
L.A. hip hop was basically electro dance music before NWA changed it. Dre (and Yella) was part of both. Ice T was part of both too. you can say if it wasn't for him there would be no NWA.
