You buy movies without renting/watching them first? I did that a couple of times but got burned too many times by crappy movies, so now I have to watch before I buy.
well i bought a blu-ray player, so i've been on a movie kick. problem is most of the films I want to buy that I've seen, aren't on blu-ray yet. (Frontiere(s), Sakuran, Inside, Ils, The Awakening, The Eyes Without a Face) so I've been trying to find some other films to check out. If they suck, it's not that big of deal. I'll probably come on here and say what crap I thought it was, then either put them on a shelf to never be watched again or resell them.

The Descent..isnt that the female caving movie? Dumb bitches getting caught up for doing dumb shit. I didnt like it and dont understand why so many people did. Maybe i just wasnt in to the premise and decided i wasnt going to enjoy it but its considered by a lot of people to be a good horror.
Original Last House had a grimier feel to it. The remake wasnt that bad but it wasnt as fucked up as the original either.
I kind of like the Collector. Not a lot of people did. Bloody kills and some imaginative contraptions. I bet on bluray itll look even better.
Jennifers Body?? You can sell that for half the price you paid and still make profit. But nobody will buy it.

The excuse to watch a movie because "it has hot chicks in it" pisses me off. Like friends who always wanna watch them shitty comedies cuz it has tits in it. Go watch a porn.

I personally liked The Descent, sure it could have been better n' all that but the premise behind it made me feel kinda chreepy. There are quite a few caves around here and i've been in a few of them so it kinda hit on a personal level. lol

The Descent - Awesome movie, one of the best horror movies to come out as of late IMO all the sequals suck

Last House On The Left - OG is better but remake is decent aswell.

The Collector - Decent aswell but i'll prolly never watch it again. kind of like the Saw movies

Jennifer's Body - not that good but has some enjoyable scenes in it. it's more of a comedy than horror movie to me.

Agree almost 100%. Jennifer's Body is not watchable though. That shit is just bad. And I thought The Descent 2 was alright. If you liked the first, you should like the sequel.

jenifers body is pretty bad but i was able to enjoy a couple scenes from it. im confused watching it though cause to me it feels like a comedy, like a spoof horror movie. but yeah i would never watch it again.

EVERYONE says that about the decent 2 and i didnt like it, imma have to rewatch it cause maybe i went it on a bad vibe or something.

whats wrong wtih buying movies?

its a whole experience

you find out about a movie, you look at the cover art, you read the description, you anticipate what its going to be like, you decide you think it might be a good experience, you buy it, you watch it, you enjoy it or hate it. its an experience youre paying for.

its like buying CD's back in the day, you anticipate the release, you look over the book art and read through lyrics and check out all that shit, you put it in, listen to it front to back, its an experience.

i used to buy movies that looked good but wasnt sure all the time. but nowadays theres maybe 5 solid movies worth owning coming out every year so i dont take my chances anymore. i think the last blind buy i bought was Carlitos Way 2 when it 1st came out and i was soooo upset i refused to do it again. however if i like a movie enough i'll buy it on release day every time.

i'm still the same way with cd's unless it's a new artist i never heard. if nas dropped an album tomorrow and i didnt hear any of it i'd still get it. i'm sort of like that with directors aswell. like if fincher or nolan direct something i'll see it day 1 in theaters no matter what.

I still pay to rent movies. I have a Netflix subscription. No illegal downloading here. If I like it, then I buy it. But just think of how many crappy straight-to-DVD movies are coming out now with pretty good looking covers and a very deceptive synopsis on the back that makes the story sound better than it is. If that was the case, I'd probably own a whole bunch of crappy straight-to-DVD Jean Claude Van Damme movies.

go to your local blockbuster. they ALWAYS have a 5 Blu Rays for $20 deal going on. yesterday i picked up Godfather III(already had I and II), 28 Weeks Later, Alien Vs Predator, Predators, and Iron Man 2. that way if you dont like one of them, you arent even wasting any money.

only bad thing about it is that they put them in the dvd boxes, but you can just buy blu ray cases off amazon, take the artwork off the blockbuster cases, and put them in the blu cases
