May contain spoilers.

First off the movie was great. The only thing negative I can say about it is, within the first 30-45 minutes I had a hard time believing the movie was attempting to be serious. Most notably the aliens acting so much like humans, or better yet, the aliens being treated so much like humans. This should be no more difficult to take in than any other alien depiction (since we know nothing about them) but when they were going from door to door asking them to sign eviction notices... well, it was more humorous than anything. But as the movie progressed it became much easier to take in. Everything else was solid. Extremely interesting. And they did a great job instilling a sense of sympathy towards the aliens from the viewer. While I can't say the movie started out great, it did get better with each passing minute and the ending was perfect, paving the way for a possible sequel. Overall the movie was very original in the way it was written and the acting was on point, especially from Sharlto. Definitely worth checking out. Great movie.

Surprisingly the movie is currently #28 on the iMDB top 250 with an 8.8

I've been hearing nothing but good about this movie (from people I know who've seen it)...gonna go check it out in IMAX tomorrow, and this time hopefully I won't be stuck in the 3rd row looking up the whole time.

Gotta get there early!

this movie was dope, really different from what I was expecting (which is a good thing). Makes you think a lot about humanity and how we would react if something like that were to happen. Everything about the movie was great.

Obviously it was a big set up for a sequel too, so I cant wait till district 10.

lol what are you talking about? Why don't you want a sequel? The whole movie was a set up basically for the next one. You don't want to see what happens when alien dude comes back? You don't want to find out what happens to the alien population, etc.???

I just hope they dont call it District 10.
Trust, it'll most definately be called District 10. Christopher told the dude he'll be back in 3 years, "with some help, to free his people". The aliens will be back and probably on some "Let our people go" vendetta against the humans....... I wonder if the dude from MNU (forgot his weird name) will support the aliens (since he is one now) or help the humans (since he used to be one)....????? District 10 will probably have waaaaaaay more action, since the story line was set up in District 9......

I thought the movie was finished. I feel there is an opening for a sequel, but i'd much prefer they didn't. A small part of me thinks they would be able to do it right because they did a good job with District 9, but the rest of me tells that other part not to be dumb the odds are in favor of it getting fucked up.

I like to think they don't come back and dude has to stay that way.

The movie is called district 9 becuase that is where the Aliens are encamped. Not once did they refer to the NEW camp (the one with tents) as District 10, so there is no reason to name the sequel as such.
