Do you have to watch the movie first to understand what is going on?

I've heard this season will come to a complete conclusion and may return for another season with a different storyline and possibly different actors a la True Detective. Nothing concrete yet

Season 2 has been better than the first. Every episode is good
I personally loved season 1 more. Season 2 was a tad too slow at the very beginning, but it has picked up ever since then. Last episode was dope

Season 2 has been dope, much better than the first imo. But wtf was that ufo shit?
they put a bunch of history from the area into it. There were a few ufo sightings by cops back during that time.
The 1979 Minnesota UFO Sighting - HowStuffWorks
The 1975 North Dakota UFO Sighting - HowStuffWorks

also the Chinook story was based off this

and Hank trying to develop a new language after WW2
Bliss believed that war was often caused by the misuse of language, and he believed it could be overcome if we could create a way to communicate the truth without the trickery of words. Having lived through the hell of Nazi concentration camps, he set about creating the perfect language, based on symbols and logic.
this show is so fucking great.

Incredible videos.

Yeah I read the ufo explanations since my post but still, it's a giant WTF!?!?! The director even said he knows there will be two groups of people, one group that wants to reach out and slap the TV and the other that thinks it's funny. I was part of the first group lol
