I liked it, had a couple twists, good movie overall. Don't think it was the best sci fi movie in some time though.
Well, AI films and AI in general are huge interests of mine, and I thought this movie did a better job of capturing the human AI relationship and ethical questions much better than most AI films have. It's not so much the movie had a few twists its more about bringing philosophical questions well to the big screen. There are quite a few interesting ideas at play, even "AI boxing" is explored here which you rarely if ever see in movies. The filmmakers also did a couple clever things to make you question the main character...like the scar on his back for example. Good detail to set that up. There's a lot more but don't want to give too much a way. The film has several layers to it. Well thought out.

Ok, if you go into the AI part, it is probably the best movie if it was a genre. Chappie is kind of the Michael Bay version of it then. lol

Everything thing that happened was kinda predictable only problem with it. Since they were robots seeing them nude wasnt that appealing either lol. Decent movie otherwise

It showed the true nature of females, in all forms. lol I liked the movie
Haha good point. Use you till until you are absolutely useless to them then they move on!

I don't think the point was to be unpredictable, rather to explore a number of AI concepts (some of which you rarely see in movies).

It's good to think about this kind of stuff since these kinds of technologies aren't that far off, really.

Good call. I thought this was one of the best movies I have seen in some time.

Amazing job of creating suspense without the use of violence.

Great score.

I loved the part where Caleb is cutting himself in the bathroom because he is unsure of whether he is a robot himself. It's such an insightful scene as there really is no way to be sure that "you" weren't just turned on and all your memories were programmed into you.

I also thought the theme of "you don't realize you are being outsmarted until it's too late" was brilliant. I have read a lot about that concept and how being outsmarted could be a very real thing as it relates to AI. That we as a species won't even realize that we have reached singularity because the machines will be smart enough to hide it from us. Some people think that machines have already surpassed us and they are currently hiding that ability.

My take on the ending was it was a commentary that we might be able to program machines to be as smart / smarter than us but creating real emotion might elude us. We will have the ability to give them simulated emotion, but only as a means to an end and not the real thing.

Seen it around the time it dropped. Good sci-fi/drama flick.

Yup, the manipulative/outsmarting bit was executed brilliantly, but we've seen that type of stuff appear on cinema before. It is somewhat reminiscent of HAL 9000 in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
