Chavez is a big inspiration to me so I'm pretty excited about this. It drops on Friday but the first I heard of it was today. Doesn't look like there's any boxing in it at all which is odd? (that's a joke). I know there's a lot of Mexicans that post on here, anyone planning to check this out?

I want this film to be good. But Hollywood has a bad track record of accurately capturing the spirit of worker's rights activists. I also wonder if Michael Pena is right for this role, as if almost they were like, "who's a Mexican actor? Get that Michael Pena guy he's Mexican right?! "

I don't think the director has ever directed a movie before, is that right? Tough task for your first film.

We don't care what you think and don't think, who is you bruh, Siskel and Ebert lmao way to ruin a good thread
Who the fuck are you?

My concerns in my post appear to be true. Early reviews are not looking good:

5.9/10 on IMDb
40% rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Many reviews say things like that the film is "simplistic", "incomplete", "well-intentioned, but dissapointing", etc. I haven't read a strong review yet.

Like I said, I think the director was in over his head. This is his first film and he's only 34 years old. Lack of experience for such an important figure/subject to cover.

the director of this movie is really big in mexico as an actor producer and director It's only his first u_s big movie. I don't think there was another Mexican actor who's that professional as Michael Pena so that didn't bother me and he looks like he really submerged himself into that role I still want to see this...

Man, I'm actually pissed that it looks like Rosario Dawson is playing Dolores Huerta. There has to be a Mexican woman that could've played that role and probably played it better. They've been doing that for YEARS with Mexican roles. The whole damn cast of La Bamba wasn't even Mexican.

I was this to be good too. I saw the critics ratings and wondered if it would be good. This is really a tough task for a film and there's so much to be said in a short time.
