AMC's Better Call Saul

As soon as the old lady got out of the car, i knew who the grandson would be.

The trailer had me goin in with zero hopes for the show but the premiere was good. Really good.

SPOILERS:


At the beginning of the episode in black and white, Sauls working at a cinnabon and later at home watching himself on tv as a lawyer. Almost confused me cuz I thought it was set before everything in BB. So how could he be watching his own commercials? lol
The black7 white scenes are after BB takes place. In season 5 he said he pictured himself working at a Cinnabon somewhere at some point haha thats kinda cool I hope we get more of those. People not familiar w/ BB won't get it at all. Not yet anyway,

^ it was the penultimate episode that he said it. "If I'm lucky, in a month from now, best-case scenario, I'm managing a Cinnabon in Omaha."

that episode was so good, I was dying at the Slippin' Jimmy story. I hope they do a flashback to Cicero at some point.

I'm sure everyone caught this, but for those who didn't notice, the black and white prologue was of Jimmy's life after the events of Breaking Bad. Saul references this in Breaking Bad season 5. "Months from now best case scenario I'm managing a Cinnabon in Omaha."

There are a couple other easter eggs in the episode that I read about too:

The key Jimmy placed in Chuck's mailbox was The car remote to the trunk during the final episode of BB





Also, it shows his future Cadillac:

Same. Apparently it's premiere was the highest rated cable premiere in history. Pretty smart piggybacking off the Walking Dead. I believe they already picked up season 2.

Pretty sure that was Badger that gets up and leaves the courtroom right before they play the video tape and that was definitely Skinny Pete in the suit getting wanded going into the courthouse as Saul is leaving. Hope they are in this a bunch.

Really enjoyed the premier.

2nd episode was dope as well.

All I can say is fuck yea, when we thought we lost Breaking Bad... we get this. What more can a fan ask for? Has there ever been a TV show that pulled off this "Hobbit - Lord of the Rings" prequel type spin off?

Having Mike in the first episode, we can speculate that it might lead to Gustavo in future seasons? and from reading they have really not took any characters from Breaking Bad off the table to cameo including Walt and Jesse. I think they just want to build the show first few seasons to have it stand on its own before they do that.

Basically this shit should get good.

Also Tuco's cousin Nacho, actor Michael Mando, is the bad guy "Vaas" in Far Cry 3. That's a trip!

I thought there was something familiar about her.

Didn't watch really any of the previews but i had low hopes for the show, especially since i thought it was gonna be more comedy than drama. I was mistaken, looks so far like it will be a worthy series on its own.

Also, with Mike in the picture, especially punchin parkin tickets, I can't help but think we will see Gus down the road.

It's a good show.. I think we'll see jesse and Walt in the show..

So, for a person that's never seen Breaking Bad(ME), do you need that context for this show??

I like that they showed that dude that always stands behind Tuco with something to say. I wonder how many times will they make ol boy say something stupid to make Tuco mad because we know Tuco beats him to death for doing that in BB.

I would definitely watch Breaking Bad first. It makes it a lot more enjoyable to watch
