I have low expectations for this. It was made too quickly in hopes of capitalizing off of the same success as straight of compton. However straight outta compton took almost 10 years to make, from the development phase to filming. Too bad John singleton stepped down from directing this.
Probably stepped away because he saw how things were going.

If done right with a good director and writing they could make a 2pac movie huuuuuge. Probably Oscar nominations. He's bigger, more polarizing and has a better story to be told then NWA. They would need to heavily invest and spend a few years on it like any other big time biopics (Ray, Walk the Line, etc) but it could happen for sure.

Bingo.

No big names in his movie at all. SooC got Paul Giamotti at least. That pushes these hip-hop movies to audiences not usually interested in this typa shit...that was a good move.

I don't like the fact afeni has passed away. They can do whatever they want.
I don't like the fact that the outlawz were cast. Those dudes are in they 40s. Why not cast some young acting Niggas?
They coulda easily made this a trilogy. 2pac went thru different phases. Hard to fit that in to one movie imo

Afeni was alive during the whole production of the movie wasn't she? I am sure I read somewhere she gave her blessing on the script of it

She did. But she is not alive to approve post production, which happened after her death.
Because when you think "movie post production" the first name you think of is Afeni. It probably will be as bad as that biggie movie was because of her involvement. If she knew what she was doing this movie would have been made years ago and would be more like "straight outta compton" was and less like the "straight outta Redbox 2Pac movie" that it is now.
