What's at stake?

IBF World Middleweight Title
WBA Super World Middleweight Title
WBC World Middleweight Title
IBO World Middleweight Title
The Ring MW Belt
Lineal Middleweight crown
Pride

No one was satisfied with a Draw. Especially most fans who scored GGG winning.

Props to Canelo for a relatively fast rematch. But honestly where else he gonna go? Young killers all around him, why not make more money against GGG who he fought well against? Makes too much sense not to happen.

Agreed. Canelo not taking any risks and GGG has declined enough that he won't be able to land a KO---He was lucky to get a draw from the judges. This time they'll give it to Canelo no matter what.

The red head ginger tested dirty.
Canelo Tests Positive For Clenbuterol Ahead of Golovkin Fight

The vast majority of those who supplement with Clenbuterol will do so for its fat-burning abilities; more specifically, its ability to enhance the metabolic rate. By its direct mode of action, Clen as it's often referred to causes the body's core temperature to increase, thereby causing metabolic action to be enhanced.

...

Clenbuterol Hydrochloride in its official name was originally designed to treat breathing disorders such as chronic asthma, but it would quickly become more popular as a thermogenic despite its original intent. However, this original intent, while very useful to those who suffer from asthma, it can also be extremely useful to performance enhancing athletes; especially those who participate in heavy cardiovascular activity. Runners, cyclist and any other endurance athletes regularly supplement with Clen for its ability to improve breathing; after all, for such individuals how well they breathe is the end all be all

Of course they blame the notorious Mexican meat tho

Coincidence he pops dirty for the drug to cut weight when Canelo is notorious for his extreme weight cutting.

LMAO it's hilarious that VADA and the lab that processed the results are defending him and basically letting him off the hook and is allowing the tainted meat excuse.

I've never seen a fucking lab jump to defend somebody that tested positive.

If the Nevada State Athletic Commission just lets this slide, people are 100% getting paid off.

They let Golden Boy make the announcement.

Some time back Golden Boy was going back and forth with them, saying they deserve the right to break the news. Looks like we now know who won that argument.

Just seems suspect to me that the promoter of the fighter who tests dirty gets to break the news, using their own language to spin it anyway they want. Anything else now is secondary to that. How about release the drug results and let people see the actual numbers? I don't want to read a press statement prepared by Golden Boy lawyers, type of shit is that?

Anyways, Canelo is getting roasted by his countrymen on Social media so apparently not everyone buys the tainted meat and put two and two together about how he constantly sheds crazy amounts of weight and is ripped as fuck come fight time, so they think he finally got caught with it in his system.

Thanks for breaking the news on here.

So I went and looked on the usual boxing sites to see the outrage and ridicule over this and it looks pretty tame, which is kind fucked up considering there are fighters like pacquiao who never tested positive but still had critics chasing them for years.

Yeah it's nowhere near the height of the Pacquiao Mayweather hysteria and hopefully the fanbase never gets that insane again. You see a lot more level headed people, but you'll see both sides people calling him a cheater and people giving him the benefit of thr doubt.

Breaks down to three camps really:
- fans who buy the tainted meat excuse
- fans who have heard this excuse a dozen times too many.
-fans who believe all top athletes are on PEDs.

But look, bottom line is this could be cleared up by releasing the test results. If say, for example, Nelo took a test Monday, he was clean, but on Thursday he has very, very small traces in his test, and his immediate next test is a fraction of that, ok cool, that would be consistent with some sort of tainted meat. But if say, he hadn't been tested in weeks and he tests dirty on the first test, well then that's suspicious as fuck.

What I don't like about this is that this drug is used primarily for two things - cutting weight and for bettering your stamina. Which just so happen to be the two things canelo has a history of struggling with (he's missed weight multiple times and his stamina has been known to be average to poor). It's a pretty wild coincidence.

In my opinion, I do believe it was tainted meat is what caused the positive test result. I mean, Canelo has a clean record and has tested clean in his last 4 fights uner VADA. what I think is a clearer indicator of this is that Canelo himself has made a statement about this result. He is not hiding anything from the public. A test result will only show what you want to make of it. Bottom line is that he tested positive and no one is hiding it. Canelo knew better than to eat that meat down south but he always does. He ran that risk knowing that the cow meats get mixed and now we get this. I mean, its not like he tested to a point where Canelo is already jacked up at 160 right now and they are scared for GGG's life here. If that were the case suspensions would have been handed down already

Golovkin and many others don't believe the tainted meat for one second. Doesn't help when you got track marks on your arms either.

"Again with Mexican meat? Come on," Golovkin said, referring to Alvarez's attribution of his failed test to his consumption of tainted meat in his native country. "It's not Mexican meat. This is Canelo. This is his team. This is his promotion ... Canelo is cheating. They're using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it's not happening." ... "I think it is silly to blame the meat because an athlete at this level should not be caught on the meat. I eat Mexican food all the time and I've never had that problem," Golovkin said.

Golovkin obtained photographs and videos, which the boxer claims reveal traces of "injections" on Canelo's body and also show him taking an unknown pill.

What did he inject in his belly? What are the marks on his belly? Look at the photos. These questions should be asked of the commission."
"It was pretty obvious when [Alvarez's] muscles were all [enlarged] ... and with the traces of injections, which were visible," Golovkin said. "Before the first fight, I knew he was not clean. I can talk about Oscar De La Hoya too. He is also not clean. He's dirty."

"This guy [Canelo], he knows. This is not his first day in boxing. He proves he gets benefits from everyone and he can get away with it. Check him on a lie detector and then we can find out everything."

Canelo enraged by Golovkons statements
Canelo took to social media, in one message, he calls Golovkin a "little bitch" and in another he tells Golovkin - "I'm going to kick your fucking ass.

Why is ggg crying? call off the fight!! Is he saying I could still beat a man on steroids or is he making an excuse if he loses?
Nah fight is still on, GGG is saying Canelo always gets special treatment, which is undeniably true. Draw on one judges card against Mayweather. Open scoring against his first step up fight against Austin Trout. Wide scores in a close fight he may have lost against Lara. A vacant belt against Matthew Hatton who never even fought in the division. A weight class made up for Canelo. A draw in a fight he should have lost against Golovkin. And now nothing at all in regards to a failed drug test.

"For us Canelo gets preferential treatment. To me I have said it all along. I have said it for a while. He gets preferential treatment not only with the judges back in the (Erislandy) Lara fight, the (Floyd) Mayweather fight and now with this drug thing it is being pushed under the rug like it didn't happen." said Sanchez.

"I think he [Golovkin] is tired of being pushed around. He is tired of - unfortunately some of the comments were misquoted - because when you hire a translator they don't always understand the gist of the things that you are saying but he wanted to make sure that people understood that he is pissed off. He is pissed off. I like him pissed off like that. I like him pissed off because maybe that is gonna be the catalyst," Sanchez told BoxingScene.com.

This all some smoke and mirrors to make it look like they care lol

Canelo is 'Temporarily Suspended' By NSAC Due To Failed Tests

Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) has been temporarily suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, in connection to his failed drug tests from February, where the boxer came up positive for traces of clenbuterol in samples taken on February 17 and February 20.

Bob Bennett, the executive director at the NSAC, has advised the Los Angeles Times that a commission meeting has been scheduled for April 10 to settle the matter, and a final decision will be issued on whether or not Canelo will remain under suspension.

At the moment Canelo is still scheduled to face IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) in a rematch on May 5th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight will headline an HBO Pay-Per-View event.

“A commission hearing is scheduled for April 10, 2018 to hear from Mr. Alvarez or for Mr. Alvarez to attend.”

Tinfoil hat time

First, I think this is window dressing, they had to respond to GGGs allegations that Canelo is getting special treatment. They will clear him. But heres the thing that makes me start thinking Golden Boy is either up to some tricks or will use this opportunity to their benefit. The hearing is a month before the fight. That means no one will really know if the fight will go down or not depending on the hearing results. Are they going to want to heavily promote a fight that is in jeopardy of being canceled and train? I don't think Golden Boy and possibly Canelo are too eager to fight Golovkin again. For sure Golden Boy wouldn't mind not having to deal with Golovkin again. Canelo is a fighter so we can give him the benefit of the doubt in that regard. I think Golden Boy will use this opportunity to cancel and reschedule at a later undetermined time but so far out that Golovkin has to fight someone else like Saunders. They are hoping for a GGG loss or just more wear and tear on that 35 year old body.

I feel like Canelo and GBP actually want this fight now better than later. No matter what you or I say, Canelo is in a lose lose situation. He is considered "dirty" no matter what. If he doesn't fight GGG, he will have to fight a dangerous fighter still. GGG vs Saunders will never happen. Canelo still isn't a proven fighter at 160 so he can also run a risk of getting hurt, dropped, or just lose a fight as well. What they should have done was what I said after the first fight is fight someone else then fight in September. But in all honesty, this fight should be cancelled.
