i know Bellator was banking on Henderson being champ. it woulda helped bring in UFC free agents. but i think Koreshkov whooping Hendersons ass didnt hurt. cant no one in UFC say Bellator aint got a real WW champ. i aint ever seen Henderson look that bad. and he's one of the best and most modern day tested.

Kavanagh was on MMA Hour today talkin bout coming to America this week would have fucked up their training. as much as i wanna see Diaz fuck McGregor up, i hope UFC dont put him on 200. Kavanagh said they really want to do the MSG card. i hope UFC takes all that shit off the table for Conor. he tweeted earlier that he was back on 200. obviously tryna get his fans hyped so UFC buckles.

Dana says Diaz still very possible at 200

very possible as in Dana White been offering him fights. there's no one for him to fight in lightweight except maybe Barboza or Pettis. i would think they need to cash him out for those since they are ranked lower than him. he been wanting Pettis but that was when Pettis was on top and not coming off of 3 losses. they might cash him out just to put him on 200. aint no one for him at welterweight since he wants his brother to take Lawler or GSP. maybe Condit, but i dont see both Diaz's making a run in welter.

Holly Holm vs. Valentina Shevchenko, Anthony Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira expected for

UFC on FOX 20 is rapidly taking shape with a pair of top-billed fights.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm (10-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) is expected to return to action against Valentina Shevchenko (12-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) in the FOX-televised event’s headliner, while a pivotal light heavyweight matchup between onetime title challengers Anthony Johnson (21-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC) and Glover Teixeira (25-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) will play a supporting role.

The matchup was reported during Wednesday’s edition of FOX’s “UFC Tonight.” UFC on FOX 20 takes place July 23 at Chicago’s United Center. The event’s main card airs live on FOX after prelims expected for FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Holm’s announcement comes after her longtime coach, Mike Winkeljohn, told MMAjunkie Radio she was soon to return to the cage after being passed over for a rematch with champ Miesha Tate, who choked her unconscious at March’s UFC 196 to wrest the title from Holm after her shocking upset of Ronda Rousey at UFC 193.

Holm’s loss to Tate served as her sole professional setback. Winkeljohn defended his student’s choice to face the champ rather than wait for a highly anticipated rematch with Rousey because of the limited time left in her career. A former boxing champ, Holm segued into MMA and won three straight in the octagon before her title upset.

Shevchenko comes into the bout with considerably less fanfare, having lost her most recent UFC outing to current title challenger Amanda Nunes. Previously, she picked up a unanimous decision over veteran and former Strikeforce champ Sarah Kaufman in her promotional debut.

The light heavyweight fight marks the fulfillment of a callout from the Brazilian Teixeira, who knocked out Johnson’s longtime training partner Rashad Evans this past month at UFC on FOX 19 and then called to fight Johnson.

In a previous interview with MMAjunkie, Johnson said he was open to any opponent and said his first priority was to recover from a jaw surgery that left his mouth full of metal. After falling short this past year to current champ Daniel Cormier for the vacant title, Johnson has reeled off two consecutive knockout victories, dispatching Jimi Manuwa and Ryan Bader to stay in the title hunt.

With the additions to the card, UFC on FOX 20 now includes:

Holly Holm vs. Valentina Shevchenko
Anthony Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira
Ryan LaFlare vs. Alexander Yakovlev
George Sullivan vs. Hector Urbina
James Moontasri vs. Alex Oliveira
Luis Henrique vs. Dmitry Smolyakov
Kailin Curran vs. Felice Herrig
Tony Martin vs. Michel Prazeres
Frankie Saenz vs. Eddie Wineland
Edson Barboza vs. Gilbert Melendez

Rapahel Assuncao vs. T.J. Dillashaw rematch in the works for UFC 200

After being passed over for a rematch with newly minted UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz, T.J. Dillashaw will instead get a chance to avenge another octagon loss.

Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight” broke the news that a rematch between Dillashaw (12-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and the returning Raphael Assuncao (23-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) is targeted for the banner UFC 200, which takes place July 9 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The event’s bout order has not been finalized. Main card fights air live on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Dillashaw, the No. 3-ranked fighter in the MMAjunkie/USA TODAY Sports MMA bantamweight rankings, hopes to return to the win column after a heartbreaking loss to Cruz in January at UFC Fight Night 81, which marked a title shift and his first octagon defeat since a decision setback to No. 2-ranked Assuncao at UFC Fight Night 29.

Assuncao has watched the bantamweight division from the sidelines as an ankle injury has kept him from the octagon. The Brazilian has otherwise been on a tear, winning seven straight fights since a knockout loss to Erik Koch at UFC 128. But it will have been 21 months since he last competed when he faces Dillashaw.

With the addition to the card, UFC 200 now includes:

Champ Daniel Cormier vs. Interim champ Jon Jones – for light heavyweight title
Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar – for interim featherweight title
Champ Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes – for women’s bantamweight title
Travis Browne vs. Cain Velasquez
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Johny Hendricks
Derek Brunson vs. Gegard Mousasi
Joe Lauzon vs. Diego Sanchez
Enrique Marin vs. Sage Northcutt
Takanori Gomi vs. Jim Miller
Julianna Pena vs. Cat Zingano
Raphael Assuncao vs. T.J. Dillashaw

Robbie Lawler vs. Tyron Woodley welterweight title fight targeted for UFC 201 in Atla

The UFC is heading back to Atlanta for the first time in more than four years, and it looks like the welterweight title will be on the line in the main event.

UFC 201 is set for July 30 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, the UFC announced tonight. The fight targeted for the headliner is between welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (27-10 MMA, 12-4 UFC) and Tyron Woodley (15-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC), per a report on FOX Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight.”

The main card of UFC 201 will air on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

In April, UFC President Dana White said that title fight is the one that was being targeted to headline either UFC 201 or UFC 202, and that’s what has come to fruition – though an official announcement of the booking has yet to arrive.

Lawler beat Johny Hendricks by split decision to win the 170-pound title in the UFC 181 main event. He has defended the title twice. At UFC 189, he went to war with Rory MacDonald and got a fifth-round TKO in a “Fight of the Year” candidate – a fight White called his “fight of the ever.” At UFC 195 in January, he took a split call from Carlos Condit.

Woodley has been on the sideline since a UFC 183 split-decision win over Kelvin Gastelum, a fight in which Gastelum badly missed the welterweight limit on the scale. He was supposed to return this past October against Hendricksin a title eliminator, but Hendricks’ weight cut was bad enough he needed to be hospitalized and the fight was off. In the meantime, Woodley hasn’t been rebooked, hoping to get a shot at the title.

The UFC’s most recent trip to Atlanta came with UFC 145 in April 2012. At that event, then-light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took a unanimous decision from heated rival and former training partner Rashad Evans.

UFC 201 will wrap up a crazily busy month for the UFC, which will put on three fight cards in three nights during “International Fight Week” July 7-8-9 in Las Vegas for UFC Fight Night 90, the TUF 23 Finale and UFC 200. The promotion then heads to Sioux Falls, S.D., on July 13 for UFC Fight Night 91. On July 23, UFC on FOX 20 heads to Chicago. Then the month concludes with UFC 201 in Atlanta, giving the UFC six events in the month
