At this point in time, do you think the fight will ever happen?

I've been convinced for years that the fight would never happen, but this fight seems like it's as close as ever. This is an ongoing topic on this site so it makes sense to have the talk about this in one thread.

In honesty I'm going to put all my bias aside.

Pacquiao needs stop playing games man. One days it's "no I don't want to get tested too close to the fight it makes me weak", then it's "you can test me in between rounds" if that's the case then why did you turn the two week offer down? Then one days it's "I'll fight for free" then when Floyd calls him and offers him 40 million off top Pacquiao says "I can't accept that offer without PPV".

Now recently Pacquiao has been offered 40 million and 35% of the PPV and that still isn't good enough. Miadana got 3 million guaranteed and Showtime is tripling that offer.

Floyd already said "if the fight presents itself" (which means he's open), well Showtime is working on that by throwing out out offers.

I don't think it's going to happen because Pacquiao doesn't want to fight Floyd Mayweather.

I like how you put ur bias aside lol

Like we already talked about, Pacquiao has a contract with HBO. If showtime offered Pacquiao a gazillion dollars to fight Floyd on Showtime it's not going to happen, because again Pacquiao has a contract with HBO.

Like I said before, only way it can work, as of right now, is if there is a joint HBO-Showtime PPV. there are rumors of CBS talking with HBO right now so we'll see what comes out of it.

Ther is no contradicting on 2-0-Sixx's statement, those are just facts followed by possibilities. To me, it seems that it can happen based on his relationship with GBP. The undercard for Floyd's next ppv seems like it's in the shits unless the undercard is JCC vs Froch. All this business shit creates possibilities that seem unrealistic at this point, like HBO working with Showtime and Al Haymon.

You just contradicted yourself, it could happen.
What? I'm saying it could happen of HBO and Showtime come together for a PPV, like Tyson vs Lewis.

What I'm also saying is Pacquiao can't go fight Floyd on Showtime since he has a contract with HBO, just like Floyd can't fight Pac on HBO since he has a contract with Showtime. Joint PPV is only option. Everyone wants it so hopefully cool heads prevail.

Pacquiao Says Mayweather Fight is Not About Money, Ego

By Edward Chaykovsky

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is open to doing whatever is possible to reach an agreement for a 2015 mega-fight with WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao has no issue with Mayweather getting top billing, walking in first or even getting more money in the financial terms, according to*Pacquiao's business manager Eric Pineda.

"The talks are already going on. It is more of what the fans want. It's not about the pay [split]. That's the least of his concerns [with a Mayweather deal]," Pineda told AFP.

Pineda declined to discuss the amounts of money involved, but Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is confident each fighter would by far get their highest paydays. Arum speculated that Mayweather could make as a much as $80 million dollars in the match, based on the money involved.

Following Saturday's dominating win over Chris Algieri, who went down six times in the contest, Pacquiao stated - "It's been a long time since I've been wanting this fight, it has to happen."

The negotiations for Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao super fight in 2015 are already in full swing according to multiple reports. It’s only logical that the big wigs are also discussing the probable purse for the respective top pound-for-pound and most popular boxers today. The latest numbers are in; $100 million for the undefeated American and $60 million for the eight-division Filipino champion.

WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. of the U.S. speaks during a news conference at the MGM Grand hotel-casino in Las Vegas, Nevada September 10, 2014. Mayweather will defend his titles, including his WBC jr. middleweight title, against Marcos Maidana of Argentina in a rematch at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 13.

Bob Arum, who is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Top Rank Promotions, admitted during the lead-up to the Chris Algieri fight last Sunday that he is already discussing the possibility of the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao super fight in 2015 with CBS Corporation chief executive officer (CEO) Leslie Moonves. Arum has also stated that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout could happen in the first six months of 2015.

As for the discussion on the share of the fight purse for the two boxers, a website for a local TV channel in the Philippines, gmanetwork.com is reporting that “Money May” is amenable to a 60%-40% split of the probable purse.

“Those in the know say that the Mayweather camp is looking at the possibility of splitting the purse with the undefeated American getting $100 million while Pacquiao settling for $60 million,” the report stated. Both figures are pegged to be the biggest career purse for each fighter. Pacquiao earned $25M in his win on Sunday against Algieri while Mayweather Jr. received at least $32M for his victory over Marcos Maidana last September.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s business manager Eric Pineda echoed Arum’s statements over the last few days that the negotiations for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight are on-going according to an another report. Pineda also confirmed that there is possibility that Pacquiao will have a lesser purse than his American counterpart and that it is not going to be a problem for the Filipino.

"The talks are already going on. It is more of what the fans want. It's not about the pay (level). That's the least of his concerns," Pacquiao's business manager Eric Pineda said via msn.com.

Meanwhile, a probable venue in the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout is the AT&T Stadium, or more popularly known as the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. Jerry Jones, who is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL), has stated that he badly wants the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight to happen in the Cowboys stadium. AT&T Stadium can seat up to 80,000 fans and over 100,000 with standing room only access.

I voted yes, they have nobody else to fight, not unless Pacquiao starts fighting in the 140 pound division like rumored!

Man, I really don't want to buy into this but it seems like there's some serious negotiating going on.

It also dawned on me, that if the fight happens, Golden Boy likely won't be involved at all which is crazy. I know Arum and Haymon don't get along, but my guess is that they get along a hell of a lot better than Arum and Schaefer. That was a full on meltdown.

Both dudes are smart businessmen, and you'd hope that neither of them could be as stupid as to push the money away that's involved here. Not to mention, there has to be some brilliant businessmen involved with Hbo/Time Warner and CBS/Showtime if they are in on it.

I never thought I'd say this either, but I think the fight is just as important and just as competitive as it would have been 3 years ago. They've both slowed down a bit, but I think they're as even as they'll ever be. I really want this fight to happen.

Yeah I saw his IG account funny stuff.

But these reports of negotiations are coming from very legit sources, it's looking like it's seriously in discussions right now. I think this is the most legit it's been in years. And yeah, Schaefer and Arum's beef was probably one of the main reasons nothing happened the past year or two.

Anyways, I'm sure we're all getting are hopes up once again just to have the fight ripped away from us again. but still, feels different this time.

Yeah, a lot of people forget that Floyd and De La Hoya were going to have a rematch which would have done huge business again I'm sure even though the first fight sucked. I can't remember if Floyd or DLH was the one that walked away from it, I wanna say it was Floyd but can't remember.

I think this fight is going to be killed just like the others now. They're going back and forth on twitter and stuff. Floyd posted a video with "Another one bites the dust" with Manny being KO'd by Marquez. It's stale already. Make the fight or shut up.
