That's the hustle though. You think Canelo does what he did last night against Jacobs? No way. I'm not saying he can't beat Jacobs but he doesn't demolish him for 12 rounds while Jacobs does absolutely nothing.

I'm just glad the fight is happening. I've always thought it'd be a good fight which is why I never understood why they delayed making the fight so long. This fight doesn't do anymore money this September than it would've last September.

Exactly. Canelos last several opponents have been made to make him look good. Chavez, Liam Smith and Amir Khan. All three were opponents brought in so Canelo can look good, none had any business fighting Canelo.

If Canelo fought Jacobs instead, that's a fight Jacobs could possibly win or at the very least make Canelo look bad.

I think they waited because Golden Boy wasn't confident. Golovkin struggling with Jacobs was probably what they needed to see.

He did duck him though and that is documented. He literally dropped the belt rather than fight him or did you forget already? Signing the fight now is great, better late than never, but it doesn't erase what he did prior.

And now that finally Golovkin looked mortal in the ring at age 35 against Jacobs in a very close fight, suddenly Canelo is ready for the challenge, amazing! That's what everyone was saying too right after the Jacobs fight, people were saying watch Canelo fight him now. Sure enough.
Canelo did not duck GGG. We all know what the WBC was trying to do and its not fair to Canelo. And let's not talk about GGG looking mortal. He finally fights a decent fighter in Jacobs and he almost loses the fight. GGG is super lucky he never got the big names at 168 cuz he would have been exposed a long ass time ago. But when this fight was first asked about, they said give Canelo 2 years and he will be ready. That has nothing to do with the WBC, GGG almost losing to Jacobs, or even money. Both fighters are in their prime. Canelo barely just moved up in weight, and GGG is still the best at 160. As long as that is whats going on, then there is no ducking. Shit, Canelo didn't even really warm up to the weight class like Ward, Pacquiao, or even Floyd did in their careers. He just jumped straight to the top dog.

Finally Canelo "Donald Duck" Alvarez will actually fight GGG. He had no choice but to now. Cant duck him forever. Got Em!!
What are you talking about? Canelo has plenty of choices, just like your boy Floyd did. The difference is Canelo is fighting these fools at their prime. Floyd didn't

Dude stop being a blind biased delusional fan. There is nuthin you can say. The whole world knows hes been ducking GGG. Now it looks like he will fight after him after GGG was in a competitive fight. They now think maybe he does have a shot to win. But there is no way you cant say he didnt duck. This dude talked hella shit to GGG in the ring only to give up the Belt the next week lmao!! The dude is a coward had to save face at some point and fight the dude. Mayweather never gave up a belt to any fighter so he wouldnt have to fight him lol. I know you hate Mayweather but he is retired and his legacy is cemented so nuthin you can say will change that. Canelo however is a coward and I cant wait to see him get scraped by GGG. Get you tissue ready lol. Got Em!!

Do you even know why Canelo dropped the belt? Do your homework. Now let me ask you, when was the last time Floyd fought someone at their prime?

Dude as usual u are a lost cause and a waste of time to argue with. he dropped the belt becuase GGG was his mandatory so he wouldnt have to fight him. Mayweather fought and beat everyone when they took the fight. He never ducked anyone. Also what does mayweather have to do with this? We are talking about Canelo ducking GGG. Get off Mayweather's nuts. He is retired. Got Em!!

Canelo did not duck GGG. We all know what the WBC was trying to do and its not fair to Canelo.
Man just stop. Canelo AGREED to fight Golovkin and requested a fight extension and then they would fight. The deal was each would have an interim fight first. Golovkin fought his IBF obligation in Wade and Canelo chose to defend his belt against Khan. They both won. Then Canelo dropped the belt without even going to the negotiating table.

The WBC always has had Canelos back. They got his first title against Matthew Hatton at a catch weight for crying out loud.

"Not fair to Canelo" lol Jesus Christ battle, acting like having to defend his title against the #1 challenger and mandatory who had been waiting is some crime. Poor Canelo, who's fought one mandatory in his entire career and that was Austin Trout and the WBC made that open scoring for good measure. Off that one mandatory, narrow victory win, got him a Mayweather Mega fight. Poor Canelo it's so unfair!

And let's not talk about GGG looking mortal. He finally fights a decent fighter in Jacobs and he almost loses the fight.
Acting like Lemieux isn't decent.

Golovkin cleaned out the ddivisio, which was full of "decent" fighters. Jacobs is a lot better than decent, shit you think Canelo would walk through Jacobs? Let's be honest, he wouldn't even fight Jacobs let alone walk through him. Jacobs is no joke and he's proven that.

GGG is super lucky he never got the big names at 168 cuz he would have been exposed a long ass time ago.
Lol what does 168 have to do other middleweight? He had to go to a weight class he doesn't belong in to get exposed? Great logic!

But when this fight was first asked about, they said give Canelo 2 years and he will be ready. That has nothing to do with the WBC, GGG almost losing to Jacobs, or even money. Canelo just barely moved up in weight? yet he's been weighing more than Golovkin for years in the ring. Dude has had one fight at 154 in his last 6 fights going back to 2013. What are you talking about he jumped straight to the top dog? He just fought Chavez at 164.

Typical battle post, full of misinformation and refuses to admit anything.

Imagine if Golovkin dropped a belt rather than fight his mandatory. Your head would explode. Canelo drops his belt rather than fight Golovkin, which was embarrassing getting clowned on social media daily, and it's all good with you. Levels of hypocrisy are off the charts.

I asked you a question and you didn't answer. I'm saying that Canelo is at his prime and so is GGG. Belt or no belt he is not ducking GGG. As long as both fighters are in their prime it doesn't matter.

Fool! We all know that at 155 non-title fights, they can still be viewed as junior middleweight class. I think you can go up to 3 lbs for non title fights I believe. Either way, when it counted he fought at 154 for the title. And like I said before GGG didn't have to take any step aside money but he did so there is no reason to feel sorry for GGG either. No real tune ups for 160 for Canelo, he went straight to it. Straight to GGG. And he gets no props just straight hate. And the reason I bring up the 168 for GGG is because he had plenty of chances and bigger fights at 168 but he refused to challenge himself. But we all want Canelo to do that, right? Hypocrites

The only person he took step aside money from was Cotto and he didn't have much of a choice. His options were accept a little over a million dollars or Cotto drops the belt and Golovkin gets no money and no fight. No brainer. Plus they we're banking on Canelo beating Cotto, which they were correct in assuming, and thought Canelo would actually fight him soon after (they were wrong about that).

Plenty of chances at 168, like what exactly?

-2 to 3 years ago or so he signed a contract to fight Chavez at 168. Chavez pulled out due to his own problems with his promoter Bob Arum.

-He tried to fight Froch a couple different times, neither time Froch took the fight and retired the last attempt instead. No one's fault, just didn't work out and Froch called it a day.

-Ward is the only possible chance you can speak of but that was a whacky situation since the window of opportunity was very small. Roc Nation contacted K2 shortly after they signed to fight Lemieux with the expectation of fighting for the WBC belt shortly after (they correctly assumed that would be Canelo). Ward wanted to sign a deal for a year or more out, the problem is Golovkin had Lemieux on tap already (Roc Nation claims they didn't know Golovkin already signed the contract) and was mandatory to the WBC and figured they'd get Canelo if not immediately after Lemieux than the fight after. They weren't going to miss out on a Canelo fight which again they thought was going to happen, so of course K2 turned down that funky offer. Ward announced the very next day he was campaigning at 175 lol so that was the Window of opportunity - 24 hours. Let's also not forget before GGG was mandatory to the WBC, that Golovkin and HBO wanted a Ward fight, at 168 and Ward was interested since he was fighting court battles and didn't fight. Timing wasn't right in either case but if you want to blame Golovkin than you have yo blame Ward as well.

That's it at 168. If K2/GGG knew the future and knew Canelo would end up dropping the belt after an extension then sure, but turns out Gennady isn't psychic.

You keep talking about Canelo going straight to 160 yet ignore the fact he just fought at 164 on Saturday. Non-title fight or not Canelo prior had been fighting above 154 and weighing 175+ in the ring. The dude is clearly at a comfortable weight well above 160. It's not Golovkins fault Canelo chose to fight guys like Amir Khan and Liam Smith. He could have fought anyone - Danny Jacobs, Lemieux, Eubank, Andy Lee, whoever. He chose smaller guys, cool whatever. You also ignore that Canelo reneged on their deal - they agreed to fight after interim fights. Imagine if Golovkin did that to Canelo, you would go crazy!

The poor guy has had to face so much adversity in his career! Crime of the century it was for the WBC to try and make Canelo fight his mandatory in Golovkin for tens of millions of dollars, the nerve of them! It's like modern day slavery!
When Canelo fought Floyd, Canelo didn't want the catchweight but he accepted it in order to make the fight happen. He acknowledged Floyd was the "a" side. When Canelo fought Cotto, there was a weight issue there as well. Canelo also acknowledged Cotto as the "a" side and the fight happened. When it came down to GGG, GGG didn't accept ANYTHING coming from Canelo in order to make the fight happen, so it took a lot longer than what GGG or GGG Stans wanted it to take. That's the business side of it. As of right now, Canelo holds no title at 160. He has no say at 160. But, he is the biggest draw in boxing. There is no catchweight, both fighters are in their prime, and Canelo JUSt moved up in weight class. If anything GGG rejected the fight with Canelo during negotiations. Plus, they had said 2 years ago that they would fight GGG at the end of 2017 and they did. With no help of the WBC, no organization, just straight up them 2 doing it the right way. Nobody ducked anybody. It's just the part of the business.

You realize that was against Money Mayweather for a gazillion dollars and an opportunity of a lifetime right? There was no mandatory situation, it was Floyd, champion of 147 and 154. Anyone would take that opportunity. And Canelo gets this gift of fighting Floyd on a massive PPV for what exactly? Narrowly beating Austin Trout in his only "step up" fight? Wooptie fucking do. Again, dude has had an easy path to stardom. I'm not blaming Canelo for that either, sometimes guys are instantly popular without doing much and have big time promoters right off the bat, while others guys have to start from the bottom and work their asses off for years before getting a shot (like Golovkin), if that shot ever comes at all.

Canelo had been fighting at 150 not long before. So let's not act like it was some massive concession Canelo had to make by going down two pounds for a gazillion dollars.

When Canelo fought Cotto, there was a weight issue there as well. Canelo also acknowledged Cotto as the "a" side and the fight happened.
What weight issue? They fought at 155 pounds, the weight Canelo was always fighting at.

Cotto was champion. Let's not forget Canelo was challenging Cotto for Cotto's middleweight belt. Canelo was the challenger. Again, tons of money.

When it came down to GGG, GGG didn't accept ANYTHING coming from Canelo in order to make the fight happen, so it took a lot longer than what GGG or GGG Stans wanted it to take.
This is where you fucked up.

Canelo/Golden Boy NEVER sent any contract offers. Golovkin rejected NOTHING. Sure, Oscar would tell the media weight was an issue, than money, but at the end of the day there was never a formal offer from Canelo. Golovkin turned down nothing.

The only thing Golovkin was adamant about was when he was mandatory to Canelo's 160 belt. Golovkin said since he's mandatory, it should be at 160. He also said, and his manager, that they would be willing to negotiate on that of absolutely necessary. Never happened. Canelo dropped the belt without even attempting to negotiate.

Bottom line is Canelo/Golden Boy didn't want the fight, it had nothing to do with weight or money. They just didn't want it until right now. You're admitting that by saying their plan the entire time was fighting Golovkin in September of 2017. That is always what they wanted. All that media talk prior was just that, talk and damage control from dropping the belt. If Canelo wanted the fight it would have happened. If Canelo wanted a catchweight of 158 pounds, it would have happened.

What a lot of people are seeing is that once Golovkin looked mortal against Jacobs, suddenly Canelo is willing and able.

*********SPOILERS******** if you haven't watched any of tonights fights yet:

Russel Jr. looked fast and ferocious against a game easy to hit opponent.

Davis looked good against Walsh. These fighters who emulate Mayweather look great with hands that dont break.

And Dirrell has to protect himself at all times. The knockout came right at the bell uzcatagui was mid attack when the shit rang he wasn't completely in the wrong. That sucker punch post fight was Bullshit, check your emotions, c'mon son.

Dirrell's uncle has a warrant out for his arrest now after the sucker punch.
Good, fuck that guy. The whole dirrell family are some chumps man, time and time again they do some whacky bullshit. I didn't think dude should have been DQd either, he was mid combo when the bell rang and he was in a zone.

I didn't mind the DQ, mostly cause he was habitually hitting late after the bell. Similar to Barthelemy vs Mendiz I, not bad intent by either guy but it was definitely a foul that cause the DQ.

The ref on the other hand telling Dirrell that if he can't continue it's a DQ and then Dirrell flopping on his face was a fucking joke. The whole scene was just ridiculous.

A bunch of good boxing yesterday though.
