I don't think Showtime has ever had better ratings head to head with HBO. Bernard Hopkins vs Shumenov, with Paulie vs Porter and Peter Quillin only had about 750k viewers. That would have easily been 1.3m on HBO. I would like to see Showtimes ratings go up but so far we just haven't seen the numbers increase despite better cards typically.

I haven't posted here in a minute, but does 2-0 normally come late with these posts? Don't be afraid to speak your minds for fear of communist retaliation.

It's a shame all these random fights are getting TV spots and Jhonny can't get on ESPN. The HBO Macau card looks pretty good as well all the way through, I wonder how many of those fights get televised.

If anyone wants to check out Amnat Ruenroeng Vs. Kazuto Ioka..

Kazuto Ioka vs Amnat Ruenroeng Fight-bg.com 07-05-2014 - Video Dailymotion

Dailymotion is annoying, they cut in the middle of the video to show an ad and it starts the video over, just remember where you're at.

Not the greatest fight but 2 undefeated fighters and if anyone doesn't know about Ioka he's an up and coming superstar in Japan. In this fight he's trying to become a 3 division champ in only his 15th fight.

Big Nipple vs Stiverne tonight on ESPN for the WBC Heavyweight title. Should be a good one both have been talking mad shit and the press conferences and weigh in have been heated.

I do believe Deontay Wilder is in line to fight winner.

If Arreola wins, if I'm not mistaken that would make him the first Mexican Heavyweight champ, a bit if a farce though as obviously Klitschko is the true champ, but it would still be history nonetheless to be a title holder.

I think Wilder has a lot to learn, no question. But someone will have to make him pay for his mistakes. What I've seen of Stiverne, I like Wilder's power to get there before Stiverne has a chance to counter with something. Wouldn't be surprised to see Stiverne win, but I don't think he will.

I just don't see what everyone sees in Wilder. Besides the power he hasn't fought anyone close to as good as either Arreola or Stiverne and he goes crazy and starts basically windmilling when he thinks he has someone hurt. I think Stiverne turns him off to be honest.
It's called hope.

We see a huge athletic big puncher that can "save" the heavyweight division from a boring Klitschko rule.

That's the hope anyway. That could be far from reality.

I think it's clear Wilder does have legit power. He has good hand speed and decent enough skills that his size and power can overcome most opponents. That is if he can take a punch. And that's a big if since he's really never been chin checked in the pro's. He could have a china chin for all we know.

Basically Wilder LOOKS the part of what Americans have been wanting for the past decade. Everyone else has been fat, undersized, out of shape embarrassments from the US. Wilder lets us dream again lol
