“It’s going to be a great fight. It’s a new year but I think it’s going to be the same like last year – a great year – with lots of great fights starting with Saturday night. I’m ready,” said Golovkin.

“I’ve seen Adama and he’s a strong guy and it’s not an easy fight for me. This is boxing, it’s a serious business, it’s not a game, so I take every fight very seriously.

Golovkin called out Sergio Martinez again after the fight. Martinez has one fight remaining on his contract with HBO after Cotto. As much as Sergio would like to fight CaneLOL, HBO is going to force his ass to fight GGG, they won't accept anyone else. Hopefully Martinez vs GGG by around November.

Obviously you don't understand the concept of staying active. Plus he got paid. Additionally he's an international star, K2 has said it's important to have non American cards once in while so people in the UK, RUSSIA, etc can watch him live at a reasonable hour.

As for Adama he's a durable guy, awkward style who's never been stopped. He was in a competitive fight against Geale that went the distance.

GGG is being avoided by Sergio. Theres not much he can do. Noone else really to fight at the moment in that weight class.

go ask Mayweather! who takes off years and comes back to whoop an elite fighter in Marquez or whoever else. no why? because of sparring! no wonder he doesn't let any media film his sparring. Real work is done in the gym, not in no goofy ass stay busy fight that no one knew about or watched! K2 is a great promotion team tho LOL!!!!

ps do you think ggg wants a shot at Andre Ward? uh oh he needs to get through Kirkland first
