Not a huge month but August 17th HBO card is stacked that has huge implications.

Cleverly vs Kovalev is a massive fight in Wales between two future stars of LWH. The winner will establish themselves as a serious title holder and a serious threat to anyone in the division. Is Cleverly just an overhyped, protected Welsh bum, or is he legit? Is Kovalev truly a Russian killer that he's shown us thus far? Can he KO a durable guy like Cleverly? Can he deal with speed and movement? We shall find out!

On the same card, title holder Daniel Geale faces respected Barker. The winner of this fight will no doubt be offered big money to fight Golovkin in November.

This month sets up a big rest of the year. June and July have absolutely sucked balls for the most part in the last few years. August is usually notoriously bad too.

Why did they stop the fight? Fernando Montiel died, was denied access into heaven, didn't like the answer, came back and got up before the count of 10. He still got knocked out but at least they let him try

All joking aside, that wasn't THAT clean of a punch and he still made him run into space

In the Montiel fight, the ref never saw him spazzing out on the canvas, he was telling Donaire to go to neutral corner.

But yeah wasn't even totally clean, just a massive right hand. Can't wait to see him against a puncher (arreola or Mitchel )

lol I was joking. Dude was obviously k'd the hell out. He's got power in that right hand like Matthysse. It doesn't even have to land clean to drop dudes. It's rare to have that kinda power/heavy hands. He's been really cautiously brought along in his career but I want to see him fight some top 10 guys. I think he could honestly beat some guys in the top 10 pretty easily but time will tell.

Has arreola ever been kod? Would be a big statement if Wilder did.
He lost via tech. decision vs. Klitschko? I thought they stopped it because he was getting the hell beat out of him? Either way, he basically was knocked out but not, knocked knocked out I guess lol He was crying his eyes out and admitted that he looked like Shrek on national tv after the beating he took. That's close enough.
