lol, i didnt see the 1st couple rounds. Seemed like Pascal was doing well except like 1 round where it looked like his leg almost gave way. Good action fight regardless. I could care less about the outcome

It was his mandatory. This guy had been mandatory for a while, going back to Hopkins. Kovalev took Hopkins belt and got his mandatory as well. If Kovalev didn't fight him he would be stripped his title so he has to get it out of the way.

Pascal lost. I hope they don't go ahead with the Kovalev Pascal rematch they were talking about but I'm sure they will. Obviously the Stevenson fight is the fight we need to happen but once again looks like the HBO/Haymon beef is going to prevent it, at least for now.

Even still I don't mind fights like these. Big fights unfortunately can't be made each time out and I'd rather see a champion fight 2-4 times a year than 1-2.

Also it adds to the excitement of it all. Mohammedi got blown out as expected, but we've seen guys go out there and make a name for themselves in big opportunities like this.
