Not the greatest month (mostly a prospect building month), they only have 3 title fights but they're all good fights.

GB wasting Vyacheslav Shabranskyy on these garbage opponents after the 2015 he had is fucking ridiculous. Dude beat Gonzalez right after a ton of people thought Gonzalez beat Pascal and then got Derrick Findley is about to 10-5-1 fighter.

Definitely a down month as far as big fights go but as you say some good prospects fighting and some rebuilding of guys. Probably most excited to see Errol Spence, even though I don't think much of his opponent it's always a treat watching Spence fight plus Bundu is a tough durable guy, bit of an awkward style, never been stopped so it would be impressive if Spence could knock him out, something Keith Thurman couldn't do. It could turn out to be a bit of a tough fight, we'll see. Hopefully this will lead to much more significant fight. I think 2017 will be a big year for Spence.

One thing that wasn't added to ESPN's website is on 8/20..

Riku Kano Vs. Katsunari Takayama for the WBO strawweight title that Tanaka gave up to move to light flyweight.

Kano is only 18 years old and is 10-1-1. Started out 1-1-1 losing his debut in 2013 when he was 16 years old and also his draw came a few months later when he was still 16.

The kid already has wins over Pigmy Kokietgym & Merlito Sabillo (huge win at strawweight for a fucking 18 year old) and now he's about to fight a guy who's been a top 10 strawweight for years and former champ.

At Chonburi, Thailand:

Wanheng Menayothin vs. Saul "Baby" Juarez, 12 rounds, for Menayothin's WBC strawweight title

Solid strawweight fight. Wanheng comes into the fight 42-0 (Thai records a bit misleading since they basically fought a ton coming up and don't have extensive boxing amateur backgrounds for the most part).

That was one of the most pointless fights I've seen recently involving a p4p fighter. The odds yesterday, I was seeing Ward as a -10000. Yep that right - $10,000 bet on Ward to win $100. Fucking lol

Anyways, it's over and the deals have been fulfilled, we are now full stream ahead to the most significant fight of 2016 - Andre Ward vs Kovalev!!!! I can't wait for that shit, may the best man win.

That mullet paid off big time! 6 million viewers for Spence vs Bundu. PBC was smart sneaking it in a time slot in between the U.S. Mens olympic basketball gold medal game and the Olympic closing ceremony. Spence delivered to his massive amount of viewers in delivering a beat-down and sensational KO.

It's probably just the time slot being between Olympics, but it makes me wonder about prime time Sunday morning/day time boxing in the future (obviously not during football season though).
