You see, Canelo doesn't need GGG for shit! He's moving up in weight class and make a statement. JCC Jr is going to get KO'd and GGG will get KO'd vs Jacobs and then Canelo will drop Jacobs come September! This year is gonna be the shit!
How much you got on Jacobs? I would love to pocket some. Let me know. Got Em!!

Ah the old "let someone else best him cuz I know I can't" strategy. What a true Mexican warrior!

Jacobs at a 9-1 is outrageous.
It is. Jacobs is on a 12 KO win streak. He's fast, athletic and deadly when he connects. Golovkin you gotta figure is going to start showing his age eventually - will it be this year or another year, no one really knows. But if you go by his fight with Kell Brook, then you gotta say he took a lot of shots, he took damage. Can he afford to take that kind of damage from Jacobs? Will he allow himself to take damage? Based on that alone, regardless if you think Golovkin fought Brook that way because he wasn't worried about his power, it's still enough to say 9-1 odds is too high.

But that is a reflection on what people think of Golovkin.

The other factor is people remember Jacobs vs Pirog:

That was like 5 years ago. Still, Pirog was the best fighter Jacobs has fought and in his 12 KO win steak he certainly hasn't fought great opposition; lots of shit opponents with one Peter Quillin, who is at the very least a decent opponent.

Golovkin has KOd every middleweight they've put in front of him and while he hasn't fought world class hhall of famers, he's had a steady diet of top ten middleweights aand overall his opposition has been much better than Jacobs.

I always wonder about the guys who take months and months and months to sign a fight with a guy who people in the industry are pressuring to fight. Jacobs hasn't exactly rushed at the opportunity to face Golovkin, it took several "I need to fight my tune up first" and very long negotiations and a career high payday to get here. That could either be Jacobs being a "smart business man" or it could be "I better get paid for the medical bills!".

Regardless of the scenario, hats of to Jacobs. Most others simply refuse to fight Golovkin and that's that, so there needs to be something said for his eventual willingness to step in the ring with triple G. Likewise for Golovkin, he could do the popular method of fighting bums while waiting/chasing the big names, for example Canelo has said since last year he will fight Golovkin in September of 2017, so some would figure he wwould take that as fact and fight some bum or non threat until then.

In any event, we have the #1 vs #2 middleweights fighting each other and that's always great for the sport.

There is just one last belt out there that Golovkin doesn't own, the one Billy Joe Saunders has and that bum was just talking about retiring on Twitter saying he lost his spark for the sport yada yada. Good riddance. Hopefully the belt quickly is put up for quality middleweights to fight for, fighters willing to unify so that hopefully by the end of this year we get a true undisputed unified middleweight champion.

*I no longer consider the Ring Belt worth a damn since The Ring magazine has made a mockery of it. Technically Canelo is the lineal champion since he beat Cotto and that will remain so until he officially leaves the division or loses at middleweight. The Ring Belt has nothing to do with him being lineal however.

I don't think they made those odds to reflect what they really think of that fight. They're banking on GGG winning and are hoping people pound Jacobs @ 9 to 1 because it seems off.

I never really cared much about the ring belt more that it was usually to the lineal champion. Canelo is still technically the lineal champion which is shitty since his last fight was @ SWW and now he's fighting at SMW. If he had abandoned the division this fight here would clearly be for the lineal title.

I used to hold the Ring belt in very high regard since it was for the longest time synonymous with lineal (besides a couple whacky exceptions) and because of their great history honoring lineal champions (again, a few whacky/strange scenarios throughout history but for the most part it was lineal). It was the visual representation of the lineal belt; the man who beat the man and fighters wore it with pride. Then of course with the Golden Boy buyout they changed rules in how one can obtain the ring belt and other politics behind it which totally killed it's credibility, which was of course the only reason the Ring was important.

They stripped Adonis Stevenson of his Ring Belt for simply fighting what they called poor opposition but he was fighting in the division regardless, and yet Canelo has gone down in weight refusing to fight his mandatory stating he was not a middleweight, The Ring said nothing and now he's moving up to super middleweight and the Ring says nothing. If Adonis got stripped simply for fighting weak opponents and didn't even leave the division, then the same should apply here.

Man, has anyone seen how absolutely wrecked Golden Boy has got in their lawsuit against Al Haymon? Talk about back firing. Not only were some racist internal emails leaked, calling Haymon a nigger, but their financial situation has been revealed showing that literally their only real source of income is Canelo and that without Canelo they would be bankrupt. It really is clear more than ever why Canelo has been fighting weak low risk high reward fights in Khan and now Chavez because Golden Boy would go under if Canelo isn't bringing them in money since again he is their only source of real income. They hardly make any money as it is, not surprisingly even with their Mayweather fights they barely got a cut. Anyways, if anyone hasn't, look up the details, it's crazy how fucked Golden Boy is without Canelo and it's alarming people in golden boy casually refer to Haymon as a nigger.

Really makes it obvious why Canelo has ducked Golovkin. They can't afford a loss.

You have a decent link to read about that? I wouldn't mind reading through that.

Some thing dope from Golden Boy though..

'Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN' begins partnership in March

More live boxing is coming to the ESPN family of networks.

ESPN and Golden Boy Promotions announced Thursday the launch of the new television series "Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN."

The series, sponsored by Tecate, will air on ESPN2 and will be simulcast in Spanish on ESPN Deportes as well as streamed on ESPN3. A few of the 2-hour cards, which will generally take place twice per month, will not be available on ESPN2, however, because of scheduling conflicts.

The deal includes 18 cards in 2017 (which will air either on Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays) and 24 more in 2018. ESPN has an option for a third year of the series.

The first card -- fights to be announced -- will take place on March 23 at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California.

"We are excited to announce this new agreement with Golden Boy Promotions, one of the world's top promoters," said Burke Magnus, ESPN executive vice president of programming and scheduling. "ESPN and ESPN Deportes look forward to featuring a new series of exciting world-class matches, along with a deep and wide variety of studio and digital content, in this multi-year, exclusive, live fight package."

"Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN" will also air on ESPN's wholly-owned and affiliated networks in Latin America, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia and parts of Asia.

Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya said the series is very significant for his company, its fighters and boxing fans.

"ESPN is a flagship network with a history of showcasing and bringing audiences into the world of boxing, making this deal a natural fit for Golden Boy Promotions," De La Hoya said. "Having worked with ESPN in the past, we know first-hand that its multiple TV and digital platforms represent a must-watch for casual and diehard sports fans. I'm thrilled that Golden Boy's talented stable of fighters will be showcased before a wide audience who will have the opportunity to watch and follow the sports' current and future world champions."

Golden Boy, which will produce the new series -- announcers to be determined -- and rely on sponsors rather than a license fee from ESPN to pay for the cards, has been searching for a television partner with a wide audience for its growing stable of fighters who are not yet ready for HBO, where Golden Boy's premier fights and fighters usually are televised.

Golden Boy has an existing television deal with Spanish-language network Estrella TV, but it is not widely available. Golden Boy said that deal will continue with an additional eight to 12 cards this year.

But the ESPN deal is where many of Golden Boy's top up-and-comers and contenders will fight regularly until they are ready for the jump to the bigger money of HBO.

"The reach that ESPN has is by far bigger than any other sports network or premium cable channel out there," De La Hoya said. "So this is a big opportunity for the Golden Boy brand and our fighters. They will be tested in their fights on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. We are really excited about the exposure our fighters will have with this new series.

"You will definitely see competitive fights and fighters who are ready to be tested; fighters who will grow up on the ESPN platform and then be ready to move to the HBO platform. We will have our top, top prospects going up against ex-world champions or prospects against prospects and contenders against contenders. This is not going to be by any means a series for us to use for fighters who just want to get a win. It'll be a series where our young fighters are ready to take on tougher challenges. We have great sponsors backing the series like our title sponsor Tecate. They are on board with Golden Boy and that gives us the ability to give the fans some really exciting fights."

Golden Boy and ESPN worked on the deal for about six months before it was signed earlier this month. When ESPN made a deal with Al Haymon in 2015 to televise his creation, Premier Boxing Champions, part of the agreement included boxing exclusivity on the ESPN networks. However, PBC's exclusivity on ESPN was eliminated as part of the settlement in May between Haymon and Top Rank of the $100 million federal antitrust lawsuit that Top Rank filed against Haymon accusing him of monopolistic practices and of violating federal antitrust laws. That allowed ESPN to make a deal with Golden Boy for the series.

"We want to nurture it and grow this deal with ESPN," De La Hoya said. "The fight fans are the ones who deserve it."

In addition to the live fights, ESPN will also feature Golden Boy Media and Entertainment content on multiple platforms, including Golden Boy's classic fight library; "In the Ring," a half-hour interview show with a variety of fighters; "Mano-A-Mano," an original half-hour series featuring fighter training; "The Ring TV Express," which will consist of three-minute highlights of fights; and podcasts hosted by De La Hoya and other Golden Boy talent.

"Boxing fans are always looking for new, dynamic content, and this alliance will give fans fresh and original programming across the most well-known platform in the sports world," said David Tetreault, vice president of Golden Boy Media and Entertainment.

Yeah, I read it earlier on. Except that it sounds like it will still favor GBP. I don't think this is the reason why Canelo is not fighting GGG, though. If anything, this case might be dropped since Canelo is now facing JCC jr. But it does suck seeing racist remarks in a business where its extremely diverse.

What's terrifying about that isn't even the racial aspect of those emails. It's the fact that the guy using them is supposed to be a "boxing journalist" and it's very clear he's writing all his articles with a slant towards Haymon and favoring GB to the point where GB employees are telling him how hard to go on him and to try to get his articles in english. That's fucking ridiculous.

Hesiquio Balderas should never work as any kind of journalist again.

In case u missed the jackassery at the Thurman/ Garcia press conference in bk.

I'm picking Danny to pull the upset and stop Thurman late or win a spilt decision, but I'm definitely rooting for Thurman, Angel Garcia's been more of whore than ever so I'd like to see him get shut up.

He keeps dropping n bombs, and saying he's a proud racist, he's been all on the trump bandwagon, and all this 'merica nationalism bs. Then he mentions Kendal holt like he was this unstoppable killer that Danny beat, while failing to mention that he had like 4 losses going into that fight.

He's good at trolling though.

Klitschko: I was called a dead man walking, I’ve been walking for a very long time

Joshua v Klitschko
14 February 2017

The 41 year-old battles Anthony Joshua for the unified heavyweight titles at Wembley Stadium, having agreed to travel to the UK for the contest in his quest to regain top spot in the division.

“I first fought here in 2000 on the undercard of Lennox Lewis vs. Michael Grant, Anthony was 10, it’s crazy to think about time and how fast it runs,” said Klitschko.

“When I fought Samuel Peter, his promoter called me dead-man walking, but that man kept walking for a very long time.”

“I know a lot of fans will be watching on TV and in the arena. I’ve fought in front of huge crowds but 90,000 is my biggest arena,” he added.

Manager Bernd Boente believes Klitschko’s experience could be key to putting the first dent on the C.V of 2012 Olympic champion Joshua, who has bulldozed his way to a world title since turning pro a year later.

Boente also hopes to sort out the United States TV side of the deal following interest from both Showtime and HBO is televising the massive contest this spring.

“On April 29 at Wembley Stadium with 90,000 people, it’s a true promoter’s dream fight,” pointed out Boente.

“We have the young, undefeated champion Anthony Joshua against the longtime ruler of the heavyweight division, Wladimir Klitschko. This will be Wladimir’s 29th world title fight which is a record for the heavyweight division.

“We are looking forward to a fantastic fight with great TV partners, Sky in the UK, RTL in Germany and we will sort out the US TV partner shortly.”

Yusuf Mack beat down some Twitter troll:

Mack you may recall couple years back was exposed as being in some gay porn. At first denied it saying he was drugged then later admit he's an uncover fag once the porn company showed more proof.

Anyways, I guess this dude has been clownin on Mack for being gay and Mack ran into him at the barbershop.

Dude still clownin though lol:

"I rather have a video of someone beating me up then a video of someone seeing me take a dick up my ass any day."
