Was Golovkin ever champion at 168 pounds and was Ward ever mandatory to Golovkin? No? STFU then.

Plus we've been over this. 2013 Golovkin offered to fight Ward at 168 pounds since he couldn't get any big names. Ward rejected the fight stating GGG needs to build his name up. Then Ward goes into self inflicted exile from the sport. Fast forward to Golovkin signing a fight against Lemieux WITH the expectations of fighting his WBC mandatory immediately following. Roc Nation briefly inquired about a fight with K2, K2 said no, we already have Lemieux next and are expecting to fight Canelo after and Ward then immediately declares he's going to campaign at 175 pounds. Ward had a chance to fight Golovkin before Golovkin was in a position to unify and he turned it down. That's on Ward. Coulda, shoulda , woulda.
That's looking back at it all. At that moment, about 2 years ago, GGG was looking to fight the likes of JCC and Froch. The reason those fighters get mentioned is because it was obvious K2 wanted to find a ppv partner for GGG and the only way to do it is to move up in weight. Now that we know what GGG is really about, let's start talking Ward. There are 2 sides to that story and only they know what really happened. I really don't care why this fight didn't happen but my point is that GGG is really not about unifying the belts. He wants to find a ppv dance partner and get ppv money. Canelo doesn't need one, GGG does. GGG and his camp had plenty of chances taking the belt as opposed to receiving step aside money. Now, he's just a paper champ with no pull. No one cares about his next fight. HBO will probably even drop his ass because they are over-paying his bumb fighting ass.

I'll stop you right here. When they looked at a Chavez jr fight, Golovkin wasn't mandatory to the WBC belt, he wasn't in a position to unify or get a big fight. Just as when he offered Ward a fight at 168 as well. Once Golovkin had that WBC mandatory spot , k2 said they aren't going to 168 for anyone until they fight Canelo for the WBC.

Not sure why you're struggling with this. Golovkin has never fought at 168. He's a middleweight. When Golovkin was struggling to get names and/or unify, they flirted with the idea of taking a fight there (Ward, Chavez, Froch). Nothing materialized obviously. Once Golovkin was in a position to get what he wanted, unify all the belts, he wasn't moving up and why would he when they expected a Canelo clash whom Golovkin was mandatory to?! Ward's time period was short as hell. He turned down Golovkin in 2013. Ok cool whatever. He leaves the sport for two years, has a tune up at 172 against Paul Smith, waits until Golovkin signs to fight Lemieux and then asks Golovkin to sign a contract for a fight one year down the road at an unknown place and time while Golovkin is mandatory to Canelo/Cotto winner whom they fully expected to fight lol. That same day K2 said no to Roc Nations offer Ward announced he is going to campaign at 175. So it is what it is. Ward's window of opportunity was like 3 days.

but my point is that GGG is really not about unifying the belts.
Then how does he have THREE of the four belts num nuts? lol he's tried to fight for that last belt against Saunders as well, who he otherwise wouldn't give a fuck about since no one knows who Saunders is. Why would he try and fight him if not for unifying? You just make shit up as you go.

He wants to find a ppv dance partner and get ppv money. Canelo doesn't need one, GGG does. GGG and his camp had plenty of chances taking the belt as opposed to receiving step aside money. Golovkin never took step aside money from Canelo. They, being Canelo and Golovkin, made a deal - each will take a voluntary fight and then fight each other after. That was the deal. Canelo reneged on the deal and handed over his belt to Golovkin like the good boy that he is. He robbed boxing fans of the fight we as fans and the sport of boxing deserve.

I wonder what percentage of this thread is explaining things to battle just for him to come back a month or so later and try and make the same argument like we forgot all the answers.
I really should have a document saved that I can copy & paste from specifically for battle, would save a ton of time.

2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx after GGG defeated Rubio, he was mandatory to Cotto. Cotto paid him twice step aside money. Once for Geale and another for Canelo. Both of those times he could have fought Cotto but he took the money instead. I never mentioned Canelo paying up. So GGG had his chances along time ago but him and his promoter are stupid. That's if he really gave a fuck about unifying

No he never could have fought Cotto because Cotto wouldn't fight him. He said he would drop belt if he had to, a threat he later actually did days before the Canelo fight. What K2 said is that they weren't going to be dicks and cockblock Cotto vs Canelo, since everyone in boxing wanted to see it. In addition there are two important factors - obviously it's better to win the belt in the ring versus getting it stripped and handed to you, otherwise people will call you a paper champion, which of course is proven by the fact that you yourself used that term not two posts ago. Second, the lineal middleweight crown you big dummy. Getting the WBC belt still hasn't got him the lineal crown. That can only be accomplished by beating the lineal champion.

This has also been explained to you several times. Where is that Copy and Paste document.

Sad thing is it's not even a contract for a fight either . Golden Boy said Fall of 2017 at the earliest lol. Basically it's no contract, nothing but two promoters saying alright 2017 we can talk again.

Golovkin will go after Saunders or Eubank next, Jacobs next year. If Canelo still isn't ready, they will probably peace the fuck out to 168 for the biggest fight they can get and either fight there a couple more times and retire. I give Canelo vs GGG a 5% chance of happening, it's clear Golden Boy/Canelo aren't interested and they know anything can happen three fights from now (GGG is 34). It's essentially a "we aren't going to negotiate with you until Fall of 2017" agreement.

Really it's a pretty easy template, go ahead and save this into it,

When battle says GGG should have fought Cotto like Cotto would've ever gotten in the ring with him,

No he never could have fought Cotto because Cotto wouldn't fight him. He said he would drop belt if he had to, a threat he later actually did days before the Canelo fight. Loeffler, plain as day - no deal, not even a commitment to a fight in principle, nothing, Canelo/Golden Boy don't want it.

"It would be great if we had some binding agreement, but we don't," he said. "I did meet with Golden Boy and they want to build the fight and shoot for the fall of 2017. From our side, we're going to continue to try to put together the biggest fights for Gennady."

Pacquiao vs Broner rumors picking up steam - Golden Boy saying they know it's a done deal....

_________
Golden Boy VP Reacts To Arum, Insists Pacquiao vs. Broner is On!

By Steve Kim

The back-and-forth continues between Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank as it relates to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum - in disparaging the potential match-up between Alvarez and WBO 154-pound titlist Liam Smith - stated that no discussions had taken place for Manny Pacquiao to face Canelo. Pacquiao is now rumored to be facing Adrien Broner on a date in October.

"The fact is they never called us about a Pacquiao fight, which means they should stay away from who Pacquiao's going to fight next or if he's going to fight next. It wasn't a situation where they said, 'We didn't go after Pacquiao to fight 'Canelo' because Pacquiao already has an opponent' - that's bullsh*t," Arum said to BoxingScene.com.

"We still don't have an opponent. We're working on possible opponents but again, they are fighting Liam Smith and looking for 1,700 different excuses to justify a Liam Smith fight, which is the height of idiodicy. I mean, Liam Smith isn't even the best fighter in his family."

pacquiao-broner

To which Eric Gomez, the Sr. Vice President of Golden Boy responded - "Y'know Bob, he's getting pretty forgetful nowadays. But the fact is, he invited us to his house in Beverly Hills and we had lunch with him."

And Gomez and Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya weren't served Subway or Quizno's that day.

"In fact, he served us those fancy sandwhiches they eat in Beverly Hills with no crust on them and we talked about doing Pacquiao and Canelo," recalled Gomez of that meeting that took place a couple of months ago.

He added - "But I do have it under good authority that (Pacquiao) is fighting Broner in an October pay-per-view. So he's going to be fighting a month after Canelo because he has September."

Alvarez who just recently dropped the WBC middleweight belt, is expected to return on September 17th.

So are tensions rising (again) between Golden Boy and Top Rank?

"No, it's good from our side, it's very good. I'll go eat sandwhiches with Arum again, no problem," said Gomez, chuckling.

Gomez even says that an Alvarez-Pacquiao fight is something they would absolutely consider for the future - "We would love to do it. We're open to discuss it, no problem."

Dan Rafael chat wrap 6/24:

- Fury pulling out is probably part injury, part being out of shape. Everyone around him questions his current conditioning. It does smell like BS.
- Picking Thurman, but that isn't a given.
- Steve Willis will ref Porter vs. Thurman.
- Purses: Thurman - $1.4 million, Porter - $1 million.
- It makes sense for the winner of Thurman-Porter to fight Garcia, but with the way PBC drags things out, who knows. Garcia will probably end up fighting Berto next.
- Canelo has not responded to anything regarding making a GGG fight. He has been destroyed on social media.
- Adonis Stevenson has his fight with Williams and then must fight a mandatory.
- Beterbiev is working his way to become Kovalev's mandatory.
- Expects Provodnikov to fight again.
- Announced today: Chad Dawson vs. Eleider Alvarez on the Stevenson-Williams card July 29th.
- Good chance Mikey Garcia returns on the LSC-Framption card July 30th.
- Pauli Malignaggi likely to fight Paul Bracero on the July 30th Frampton-LSC card.
- Vera is tough, but doubts he upsets Korobov.
- BJS does not want to fight GGG and the only way he would take the fight right now is if he gets crazy money. Fighters know they don't just risk a loss vs. GGG, they risk being hurt because of his power.
- GGG's next fight is most likely Eubank Jr. Eubank Jr. is a good fighter who GGG should beat pretty easily.
- Schaefer has not aligned himself with a network yet. He will probably promote some PBC cards as part of his overall business.
- Too premature to assume Pacquiao vs. Broner will happen. Pacquiao just finished "senator school" and Arum says he currently isn't planning anything for him.
- Expects Canelo vs. Smith to bomb on PPV...and it deserves to.
- Right now, Joshua vs. Wilder? Wilder.
- Sosa stopping Fortuna isn't a total surprise. Sosa is a good puncher and Fortuna's chin has been shaky.
- Thoughts on Eddie Hearn? Does a tremendous job overall, knows how to build up a fight, and easy to deal with.
- Great HW fight: Brewster vs. Liakhovich.
- The lawsuit by Povetkin against Wilder is a joke and will go nowhere.
- Told that at the end of this year NBC is done with their relationship with PBC.
- Groves vs. Murray is a toss up fight, picking Groves in a close one.
- Thoughts on if Mayweather is actually retired? Probably not.
- Crolla vs. Linares? Good fight. Favors Linares.
- Does not see anyone at 126 or 130 giving Lomachenko any real problems.

This is all you have to say? Speaks volumes bro you're the master of bullshit excuses and here you are left with, "well, what kind of ratings will Golovkin get in his next fight though" lol like that's somehow relevant to Canela being a bitch tucking his tail and choosing to fight the weakest link at 154. He didn't even go for Andrade or Charlo he went for a guy named "Beefy" that no one has heard of this side of the pond, on fucking PPV nonetheless and you're worried about Golovkins ratings lol

I mean look at the poster, Beefy even has that look on his face like, "Yeah I'm sorry I'm the opponent Canelo chose too"

You should be worried about GGG's ratings too. That's what is being used on the bargaining table. So you get what you want out of Canelo, a fight in a weight division you felt he belongs in, and you're gonna complain? Canelo fighting bums? What the fuck has GGG been doing since the Rubio fight?

That's for guys like you to do. I just want best fights .

Lol what bargaining table? There is no table. Canelo had his WBC belt, lineal crown and his pride on the table and he let another man take it all without even putting up a fight.

Oh and love the argument about "who has Golovkin fought" when you know damn well big name guys like Canelo turned him down. Copy & Paste from document again.
