Errol will probably get the loser of that fight, after he fights herrera or Guerrero that is. My guess Is also that Vargas gets beat up by Brook, possibly by ko, as Vargas has been more aggressive lately to avoid judging, I could see him getting caught by Kell.

I'm excited to see Sammy Vasquez in the Lamont Peterson as far as the welterweight go. I feel like Peterson can be a good test for guys.

It's aight. Apparently Errol Spence offered to fight Brook but Eddie Hearn turned it down.
I'll take a unification over anything else tbh. Vargas is the weakest champion imo so I don't mind someone like Brook absorbing his title. Spence is going to get his shot one way or another and it'd be dope for his first title fight be for 2 titles in a division.

I actually forgot Vargas won a vacant title in the Ali fight. Makes more sense now. I don't think its a very compelling match up though since Brook should handle him without too many problems, hopefully after this Eddie Hearn gets him a big name in the division.

Dan Rafael chat wrap 6/3:

- No news on GGG vs. Canelo is not good or bad. Currently GGG's promoter is out of the country and GB is involved in a civil case over Canelo's contract. Personally he doesn't think the fight happens this year.
- Very suprised the Canelo civil case went to trial. Zabala's side believe they have a very strong case. GB could be in some trouble.
- Canelo vs. Liam Smith? It is possible, but GB likely is talking to multiple opponents and will have their choice of who to fight.
- Skeptical we see GGG vs. Zurdo any time soon, but I guess it is possible.
- Floyd vs. GGG at 154? GGG by KO.
- BJS made himself look stupid when he turned down career money offered vs. GGG and then after GGG signed a fight started calling him out.
- Could RJJ go back to the Olympics and try to get his gold, now that pro's can participate? Doesn't think anyone over 40 is allowed.
- The WBC has said they will impose a 2 year ban in their rankings if you are a pro who participates in the Olympics (which he supports). Has not heard of any other sanctioning bodies doing anything.
- 154 has good matches. We should see Charlo vs. J-Rock.
- Bellew's heart and desire are sometimes greater than his talent. He would be an underdog vs. Glowacki, Lebedev, Drozd, and Usyk, but he certainly could win any of those fights.
- CBS SportsNet will air Gutierrez-Mijares. No time yet, because they aren't sure if it will be live or slight tape delay.
- Beterbiev: real or not? Seems real.
- Talked with Gabe Rosado and he wants the JCC fight. He cannot make 155. He currently weighs 163 and needs to cut 3 more pounds to make his 160 lb fight (as of yesterday) and looked lean. He would be more effective at 168 than he would be at anything below 160.
- The amount of battles Salido has been in is certainly a risk that could be a disadvantage.
- Vargas by late KO.
- Picking Barthelemy.
- Floyd vs. McGregor is a farce that is not going to happen. If it does...it should not be taken seriously.
- Ali fought Lyle Alzado, but it was an exhibition.
- More intimidating in person: Wlad or Vitali? Vitali.
- Why does Lara keep getting main events? No idea.
- Lara fans believe that if they keep saying he beat Canelo than it will actually come true.
- Nothing official for Danny Garcia, but most think it will be Berto in the fall.
- No news on Omar Figueroa.
- No news on Nicholas Walters.
- Could Williams upset Stevenson? Yes, because Williams can punch.
- Not sure who Chocolatito will fight next, but if he was picking he would choose Estrada or Nietes.
- Hoping that was Shane Mosley's last fight.
- Most PBC fighters have a lower profile now than when PBC began. Wilder is an exception. Stevenson's lack of profile is his own fault. He has chosen crappy opponents.
- Storm Alvarez is Stevenson's mandatory. He will fight on the July undercard and they should meet in the fall in Montreal in what should be a pretty big event.
- Wilder's next fight is not set yet. Jennings won't be an opponent because he won't accept it on such short notice or for the money being offered.
- The winner of Zlaticanin vs. Mammani will fight Linares, if Linares takes the fight.
- Everyone he knows believes Lomachenko will dominate Martinez.
- Luis Ortiz vs. any other HW? Ortiz is probably the favorite vs. all other HW's currently.
- The fact that Joe Smith is in a headlining fight on NBC primetime is pathetic.
- Has never been to a boxing fight as a fan with no media responsibilities.
- Does not think the winner of Thurman vs. Porter will fight the winner of Vargas vs. Brook. Likely the Thurman-Porter winner will face Garcia or another top 147 lb Haymon fighter.
- Tyson's fight in Memphis was one of the best fight week build ups. Very memorable.

Liam Smith has confirmed pussy ass Canelo has offered him a fight

Smith then goes on to reveal that he's received an offer to face Canelo Alvarez, a fight that would have him put his belt on the line against the popular Mexican fighter who recently conceded his WBC middleweight title to Gennady Golovkin.

"I've been offered the Canelo fight but I haven't been told too much about it," he said. "It would be for my title because he has given up his (WBC) belt at 160 and would be moving back down to 154 pounds.

"My team is keeping things quiet right now because it's important that my mind is on the job that's in front of me. I don't like talking about future fights and we're just being professional."

Obviously Smith being offered a Canelo Alvarez fight is even more evidence that the much anticipated fight between Canelo and Gennady Golovkin is no closer to being realized, and that it pretty clearly won't be happening next at the very least.

Actually that's pretty dope. If Canelo abandons the division he's no longer lineal champion and if the WBA enforces GGG/Jacobs that'll likely be for the lineal title as Jacobs first round demolition of Quillin likely has him as #2 in the division.

IBF Orders Commey vs Easter Jr. Lightweight Title Fight

Undefeated Ghanaian star Richard Commey (24-0, 22 KOs) is set to face Robert Easter Jr (17-0, 14 KOs) for the vacant IBF World Lightweight title.

The often-avoided fighter, who is mandatory challenger for the IBF strap, was anticipating a showdown with champion Rances Barthlemey, and was ringside to watch the Cuban defend his title against Mickey Bey last Friday.

However, yesterday the IBF announced that Barthlemey has opted to vacate the title rather than face Commey, and have now ordered the 29 year-old to meet Easter Jr, the next highest ranked contender, for the vacant belt.

Both parties have agreed to the fight in writing and have until July 6 to come to an agreement before the IBF calls for purse bids.

Speaking today at a press conference at the Kempiski Hotel in Accra, Ghana, Commey expressed his delight at landing his long-awaited World title shot.

‘’I’m really exited to finally get my shot at the World title,’’ said Commey. ‘’I have been waiting too long and too many fighters have avoided me, but it seems like we are finally there. I would like to thank my promoter Team Sauerland for helping to get this opportunity, which I will take with both hands.’’

Commey’s promoter Nisse Sauerland says he is confident the former Commonwealth and IBF Intercontinental Champion can claim the World title and has revealed his desire to stage the fight in Ghana.

‘’We’re delighted that Richard will finally get his chance to fight for the World title,’’ said Sauerland. ‘’This has been a long time coming, and Richard has been very patient, but now his time has come.

‘’He is, in my opinion, the best lightweight in the World, and I have every confidence he will win the World title and then go on to unify the division.

‘’We will try our best to bring this fight to Ghana. My father started his career promoting fights in Africa and we would love to bring big-time boxing back to Ghana. This country has a rich boxing history with many great World Champions, and Richard can take his place among these greats by winning the IBF title.’’

‘’If the fight comes to Ghana, I will make the whole country proud,’’ adds Commey. ‘’It would be a dream come true to fight in our national stadium.’’

Actually that's pretty dope. If Canelo abandons the division he's no longer lineal champion and if the WBA enforces GGG/Jacobs that'll likely be for the lineal title as Jacobs first round demolition of Quillin likely has him as #2 in the division.
According to Eric Gomez there are 6 different fighters being considered for Canelo next:

1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Liam Smith
3. Danny jacobs
4. Miguel cotto
5. Billy Joe Saunders
6. Gennady Golovkin

The very fact they admit they are looking at other middleweights besides Golovkin is embarrassing as fuck. Obviously it won't be Jacobs, he's fighting July 30th against Sergio Mora. Obviously it won't be Floyd or Golovkin. So that leaves Smith, maybe a small chance with Cotto since Marquez got hurt but I doubt it. Saunders, long shot. Probably Smith.
