But like I said a billion times, Canelo weren't going to fight him until 2017. ODH even said it last year. So why is everyone acting surprised here? Agreement or no agreement, GGG and K2 took that step aside money. They can't complain either. Now lets hope they can get a buyable ppv fight that will get over 500k buys
There wasn't step aside money they simply agreed to fight this year after each have a fight. So now you're defending reneging on the initial deal Canelo made? smdh take the L man.

lol just like he fought Khan for the fans right? A fight literally no one was asking for. Also a fight that Canelo INSISTED his middleweight belt be on the line (Khan tried to fight him at 154, nelo said nah, we fight for my belt at 155).

Well Golovkin certainly tried to make the fight the fans want to see with Canelo, can't fault him for Canelo reneging on the deal and handing over his belt.
The fans weren't asking for Canelo vs Khan, I surely was against it, but they still bought it. Meanwhile, GGG is fight who again? K2 has been wanting a ppv for GGG, but they don't want him to move up. He will get tested and will get exposed. I do respect GGG's old school ways and respect for boxing, but none of us can't deny that unless its a ppv fight and it favors GGG, they won't take a risk on GGG's career.

Jesus. Jermain Taylor got 19 years suspended. I didn't realize he was looking at that much time. Thing is, his erratic behavior certainly doesn't give me confidence he can be on the straight and narrow from here on, so one more fuck up and he's going to be looking at 19 years in prison. He needs medical and psychological help, prison isn't going to help him but I worry that's exactly what's going to happen.

WTF you even babbling on about? They are, or I should say were, champions IN THE SAME DAMN WEIGHT CLASS. There is no let's deflect the conversation to PPV sales and hypotheticals. Canelo gave HIS belt to Golovkin. It's a clear duck and the backlash Canelo has received is completely on him, even in Mexico they are ragging on the guy calling him a coward and he shamed Mexican boxing. This is the reality of the situation. Defend him all you want on your island, everyone else knows the deal.

All fans are split on Canelo's decision not just Mexicans. Come down the border and do you know what they are calling GGG after the Wade fight? Gay Gay Gay. He's been fighting bums, dude. Don't speak on how all Mexicans feel because you are talking to one that lives by the border and is constantly in Mexico.

You naner, are just a "fan."
No shit I am, hence why I don't pretend like I'm a fighters financial manager like you do. You're more interested in A side/B side, catchweights, ring size, etc like you'd lose actual money on Canelo getting in the ring with GGG. It's a crazy notion, but I'd actually rather see people fight over reading about failed negotiations and excuses.

I've always wanted my favorite fighters to get in the ring with everyone win or lose. All that sacrifice to be a fighter and things people throw out there when talking about guys not taking a fight is nonsense. This is an entertainment business, not a necessity of life business. Canelo in the ring exists for the fans, his paycheck comes from the fans, as does every fighter. Yes they should be fairly compensated, but guys that want to be unreasonably compensated knowing the fight will never happen because of unreasonable demands is ridiculous and the only reason it happens is because idiots like yourself ride for that nonsense like Canelo tucks you in at night.

The reason guys like Canelo still sell regardless of the fight he takes is because he has a built in fanbase from his nationality and skin color. Too bad GGG wasn't born Mexican with red hair, what an idiot move on GGG's part. I told 2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx years ago when he was in the amateurs, yeah that boys good but he made a mistake choosing to be a Kazakhstani and trying to make it in a sport like boxing.

"This is what Chris Mannix said, he was there!" Now, let's ask Tom Loeffler:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...oxing/&usg=AFQjCNGr9JaBk2We1La6IY9fYEDeoMsPtw
And what is this? Tom Loeffler being polite as usual not trying to burn any bridges, saying they were true to their word that they would vacate the title. There was no offer from Canelo to fight at any weight since he gave up his title so he is no longer obligated to fight Golovkin. Of course K2 Golovkin would still like to fight, since the only way to becoming lineal champion is by beating Canelo and of course it's a huge fight, but obviously that isn't happening anytime soon since Canelo doesn't want the fight. All that talk about how he's ready to fight now, in the post fight press conference Canelo saying Golovkin is next, all bullshit.

Dan Rafael chat wrap 5/20:

Canelo - GGG:
- Canelo said very clearly he would face GGG at 160. Loeffler said catchweights or rehydration clauses weren't even discussed in negotiations so far (question in regards to GGG weight). Besides, Canelo rehydrates more than GGG.
- If Canelo vs. GGG does not get made, suspects that Canelo will fight Lemieux to get used to 160. Lemieux has stated he will not fight below 160, he physically cannot make weight any lower.
- Believes the WBA will let the Canelo-GGG situation play out a bit more before they order GGG-Jacobs. Jacobs already has a July 30th fight scheduled.
- Heard from GB about his article detailing the negotiations and his opinion on them. They understand it isn't personal and understood what he wrote. They had one issue with the article (but didn't say what it was).
- Hoping that Canelo demands ODH to make the fight.
- If Canelo fought Lemieux next, it would be on PPV.
- Outside chance Cotto fights Canelo in the fall. If not Cotto may still try and make a fight with JMM (fight would be around 150 lbs).
- GGG will not be moving up to 168 any time soon. He makes 160 easily and still has plenty of things to accomplish there, he wants to unify the division and break Hopkin's defense record. There also isn't any fights at 168 that fans are demanding more than any fights at 160.
- Does any current MW have a good chance to beat GGG? No.
- Believes that even if Canelo lost to GGG it doesn't hurt his brand as much as many think. ODH lost many big fights and his star power was fine. As long as Canelo didn't get blown out in a couple rounds (which he thinks would not happen), then Canelo would get credit for taking a tough fight.
- His stance on Canelo/GGG/Khan. Had no problem with Canelo-Khan because Canelo negotiated an interim with GGG. But Canelo knew the GGG fight was expected after Khan. If you need another fight after Khan, you deserve to be criticized.
- If ODH and Canelo feel like the business side of the fight isn't right (risk too big or want it to marinate) they should just say that is the reason the fight isn't happening. Quit giving us B.S. answers.
- Does not believe Canelo vs. Lemieux is a bad fight...just not the fight we want to see.
- ODH claims they will still talk to K2 about making the fight and K2 said they are open to hearing what GB has to say.
- Possibility for GGG vs. Eubank Jr. in the fall? Highly unlikely.
- How late could negotiations go before a Sept. Canelo vs. GGG fight cannot be made? Early July.
- How many Mexican fighters have given up the WBC belt without changing weight class or retiring? Can only think of Canelo.
- We cannot call it a duck by Canelo yet.
- The worst part of Canelo's situation is that he called out GGG on TV and so far hasn't backed any of it up.
- Canelo does not lose his MW lineal title as long as he continues to fight at 155, because that is a MW.
- Charlo brother's vs. Canelo? Doubtful with the political divide.
- Will Canelo fight GGG? Eventually yes.

The rest of boxing:
- If Haymon and Arum can start doing fights together, Featherweight and Welterweight has some real good opportunities.
- Thoughts on the Arum vs. Haymon lawsuit? Believes Arum filed the suit to scare off Haymon's investors so PBC would go bankrupt. Once Waddell & Reed were released from the lawsuit, it appeared that Arum lost interest. The settlement is confidential, but if he had to guess believes that it likely was that both sides agree to stop the lawsuit and pay their own legal fees.
- Will PBC have a network paying them good money to show cards by the end of the year? No.
- Next big fight? Entirely possibly Wilder could fight Klitschko if he beats Fury. And still likely the Thurman-Porter winner could get Garcia.
- It does not look good for Fury with his weight gain.
- Why isn't Fury a top PFP fighter? Because his one big win appeared flukey and a guy like Klitchsko dominated for a long time.
- Picking Lara, both Charlo's and Lebedev.
- Which Charlo is better? To him they are pretty much the same.
- Would love BoxNation to be available in the US, but right now doubts it happens.
- HBO did have extra money from Mayweather-Pacquiao (about $10 million), which they reinvested into Canelo-Kirkland on regular HBO and brining Wlad to the US to fight Jennings. That money is gone. Since then there have been budget cuts that happened after Nelson took over and is sure he was surprised to have that happen.
- The winner of Vargas vs. Brook fighting Bradley? Good fight.
- Vargas vs. Brook should take place either Aug. 20, 27, or Sept. 3 at Brammal Lane in Sheffield.
- Arum said HBO is interested in Showing Vargas vs. Brook. The rights wouldn't be too expensive.
- Broner vs. Garcia is an interesting fight. Suppose a lot depends on Broner's legal issues.
- What is next for Wilder is totally up in the air at this point. Too bad because it would have been a good fight. Was leaning towards Wilder by KO.
- Sammy Vasquez vs. Lamont Peterson? Peterson wins easily.
- Heard that Peterson likely will fight in August at the DC Armory with his brother on the card.
- Could Anthony Joshua sell tickets in the US? Yes, he could sell a lot.
- Joshua vs. Haye? I would watch that.
- Parker vs. Takam? Parker by KO.
- Believes Charlo-Trout should be the main event. Lara vs. Vanes is a bad fight.
- Should Glen Tapia retire? Probably.
- The recent news from NY's commission worries him about the future of boxing in NY, although he does believe the legislation will get fixed.
- Who will Danny Jacobs fight in July? Someone mediocre who fits the budget.
- Fighters who jumped up 2 weight classes and won a belt? RJJ, Hopkins, SRL, and Inoue.
- Thoughts on Callum Smith? Tremendous potential, thinks he wins a world title someday.
- Nothing official on DeGale vs. Jack. Showtime says it should take place in September.
- Kovalev did not duck Stevenson on the purse bid. That situation was far more complicated to be called a duck.
- Bigger star: Tyson or ODH? Tyson.
- Abel Sanchez told him that Gassiev was manhandling HW's in sparring and that he would KO Shimmell within 1 or 2 rounds.
- Winner of Leonard vs. Hagler? Leonard.
- Emanuel Steward would be disgusted in the competition Stevenson has chosen to fight since winning the title.
- Mancini vs. Pryor? Pryor. Not even a close fight.
- Where is JCC? Probably smoking dope, eating ding dongs, in pink undies.
- Molina vs. Provodnikov? Should be a war, but Molina is basically shot and Provodnikov should win.
- Favorite Teddy Atlas metaphor? Water in the basement.
- Still not sure if Ward gets another fight before Kovalev.

YES! It is a race issue! I forgot. GGG brings in the highest ratings to a premium channel, beats all broadcasting ratings as well, and sells out LA and NY fighting bums because of his race. You see, I blamed HBO for not broadcasting Lemiuex's IBF title fight in Canada prior to the ppv and that it would hurt ppv buys and it did. I never made it about race. It's always about business. Canelo went from one network to the other because he wanted the Mexican holidays and he had to put in work either way and he did. GGG needs to put in work

Golovkin has been putting in work by knocking out every top ten guy in the division he can fight. What else you want him to do? How can you put in work with the big names when the big names flat out refuse to fight him? I've never seen a situation like this before in my life, naner is probably the most knowledgeable here regarding boxing history and I'm willing to bet he's never seen anything like this either. One- we have a guy in Golovkin who literally has been ducked by about ten top fighters. Two- a lineal champion who invented his own weight class one pound North of an already existing weight class and refused to fight anyone out side of said weight class and vacated his title to avoid his mandatory. There's never been anything close to what Canelo has been doing.

GGG had a chance to fight Quillin and instead signed an exclusive contract with HBO and still does. GGG accepts step aside money. GGG is only willing to move up a full weight class as long as it's not Ward and it's a ppv. Canelo has done none of that. After 3 years, he got the Mexican Holidays by switching networks, fighting a non ppv fight, and defeating Cotto. Canelo acknowledged that even though he brings in the most money he still took the high road and accepted being the "B" sider vs any other big name fighter until now. And he even fought a catchweight fight. He took major risks to be where he's at. ALL of GGG's fights are free because he doesn't take the risks. The truth is, all GGG wants is a PPV dance partner that he can defeat. Please don't let his propaganda fool you. I've said it before at a full 160, GGG kills Canelo. At catchweight, GGG's boxing skills should be enough to defeat Canelo. So why won't he do it? Money! He wants more than he deserves. That's the "fucking around" Canelo is talking about. If Canelo loses he will still make so much money that a rematch at GGG's demands will get him so much more and he can retire before he's 30, not 40 like Floyd
