One fight agreement. I'm ok with that since everyone knew Canelo wasn't going to fight him next anyways. This gives Canelo his chance to "grow" and it hypes the fight. K2 in the meantime are going after Andy Lee/Saunders winner or Danny Jacobs. So in a perfect world, Andy Lee in April/May and Canelo in September? Brilliant. Even though that's a slow year fighting only twice the reward would be massive.
Id have to guess the IBF is going to enforce Tureano Johnson mandatory shot at Golovkin now that the unification isn't happening unless Golovkins camp can land a unification against the winner of Lee/Saunders.

Yeah, and you gotta reckon Andy Lee will go with Danny Jacobs, should he win. Much more winnable fight for him. Saunders winning would be the wild card I guess, but given his comments to Eubank Jr ("Golovkin would knock me and you out in the same night") I doubt he'd be in any rush to fight Golovkin either.
Kovalev is a cold dude....
How tough was your first fight with Pascal? Was it tough at all? How do you remember it?
It was a very hard fight. I missed some punches from his counter attack because I did some mistakes. But right now I’ve fixed it and next the fight should be very interesting. I would like to destroy him as a boxer forever.
Does it bother you when your opponent talks a lot?
Yeah I don’t like this and he will pay for this in the ring.
Do you think that in your last fight with Pascal that you took a lot out of him?
Fighters who fought with me, where are they now? Sillakh, Cleverly, Caparello, Agnew, where they are? I didn’t finish my job and my goal in last fight (with Pascal) because referee saved his health and it really was a right stoppage because all fight was a lot of very hard punches.
When you fought Pascal the first time he complained about the stoppage. What do you think about that?
I think he must say ‘thanks a lot’ to (the referee) that he saved his health and that he’s still alive.

I said it would be a brilliant year for Golovkin if he were to beat Andy Lee and Canelo in the same year. That's a lot different than the crap you were spewing.
Listen, Canelo should fight Golovkin next, everyone knows this but they (Golden Boy) are scared as fuck of getting blasted. So they work out some kind of one fight deal to extend the process. There is no guarantee Canelo is going to fight him then either and at that point, Golovkin would have to move on without Canelo. I'm not cool with ducking or delaying stuff. What I'm cool with is the fact they worked out some sort of deal at all, that's better than nothing and the alternative was to stomp their feet and get Canelo stripped of his belt and have no fight at all.
But time is running out and its an absolute tragedy that Golovkin has been ducked by so many fighters in his division that it has come to this where accepting another extension is the only choice.
In other Golovkin news he just received the $800,000 from Cotto. Kind of hilarious that Cotto dropped his belt only days before the fight to get out of paying the step aside only to end up having to pay it anyways after losing to Canelo. Golovkin made a lot of money from Cotto without ever fighting him, over $1,000,000 in a year!! (Cotto paid GGG step aside money to fight Martinez as well).

The boxing Hall of Fame announced its latest class on Wednesday, and if there is one takeaway from Hector Camacho, Lupe Pintor and Hilario Zapata being inducted next June, it’s this: The Hall of Fame voting process needs a significant overhaul. Members of the Boxing Writers Association of America vote for the nominees in the “Modern” category; full disclosure, I’m one of them. There is no minimum number of votes needed to be elected. It’s not like baseball and hockey, which require 75%. It’s not like the NFL, where each entrant needs a minimum of 80%, or basketball, which needs yay votes from 18 of the 24 members of a committee.
Every year, the boxing Hall of Fame elects three new members, regardless of the qualifications of the class.
If you think that’s a little ridiculous, well, you should.
Why do they do it? It’s not difficult to figure out. The IBHOF is in Canastota, a sleepy town in upstate New York. Induction week is a big deal up there. There’s a parade and events in which fighters, past and present, all participate. It generates revenue and attention for a Hall that lacks the stature of one representing the mainstream sports. If the Hall starts setting minimum thresholds that lead to years in which no fighters are inducted, well, that’s bad for business.

But it needs to set thresholds. Camacho was a fun fighter with a granite chin and a handful of quality wins on his resume, but he shouldn’t be a Hall of Famer. Pintor is a former bantamweight and junior featherweight titleholder with a 5–4 record against world champs and current Hall members. He’s not a Hall of Famer. Zapata is a former junior flyweight and flyweight champion. He’s not a Hall of Famer either.
The IBHOF doesn’t reveal voting results, but if it did, I’d bet a lot of voters would agree with me. I’d bet they would say the same of this year’s class, which was headlined by Riddick Bowe, Ray Mancini and Prince Naseem Hamed. Force-feeding fighters who lack Hall-of-Fame credentials not only waters down the talent, it makes the Hall look ridiculous.
So, too, does limiting the number of inductees to three. Consider this: Next year could be the last year for Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones and Miguel Cotto. Per the current rules, one will not get in. Camacho will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Pacquiao, Hopkins, Jones or Cotto will not.
The voting is only going to get uglier. Name a fighter whose career began this century who is a lock for the Hall of Fame? Cotto? That’s one. Andre Ward? If his career ended today, he’s borderline. Gennady Golovkin, Saul Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev are trending in that direction, but they are not sure things. Today’s fighters are more motivated in protecting a glossy record than facing the toughest challenges. If that doesn’t change—as long as shadowy advisor Al Haymon controls a large chunk of the talent, it won’t—Hall ballots will soon be filled with laughable candidates.
The Hall has a choice: Continue this way, throw a good party each June and watch its credibility erode yearly. Or make the necessary changes that will elevate it into the elite club that it should be.

Broner is an awesome final opponent for Pacquiao. I mean everyone knows Pacquiao is passed prime and not the same guy he was a few years ago so it's really hard to get excited about a fight against Crawford or Bradley III. If its against Crawford you halfway expect him to lose on points and pass the torch so to speak to Top Ranks young rising star. Against Broner though? That's entertaining. People would get excited about that because they'd love to see Pacquiao whoop his ass and have a feel good victory on the way out. Won't happen but I wish it would.
