Why would he lie? He's not obligated to move up in weight, he doesn't have to fight Ward.

My guess is they talked about fighting when Ward was having his promoter issues. Could also be now with Roc Nation too, seems David Itskowitch wants a couple soft touches for Ward right now before he goes into something bigger. They invested a lot of money in him.

That story is a lie. Ward did, however, turn down a GGG fight before. "I need a tune up" and when GGG's guys told him who exactly to call and make an offer the phone never rang.

But he needs to fight Ward doe.

Meanwhile Ward vs Kovalev talks are starting according to Duva and why shouldn't they? Ward competed at LHW in the Olympics, has been called out by Kovalev and Stevenson and needs to fight guys his size.

But GGG needs to fight Ward doe.

Yeah I guess that journalists made up some shit for reviews and to plug some website. GGG and his manager confirmed he said none of that, other than the Froch part. I guess Golovkin just said something like he wants to fight Ward.

As for Ward vs Kovalev, I've been hearing a lot of talk from Duva but I haven't heard anything from Ward. Last I heard he announced he decided to stay at 168 pounds, so I'm a bit skeptical on just how far a long these talks have been between the two camps, Duva might be creating a buzz to try and put pressure on Ward, idk.

So Ward needs to fight guys his size but GGG can call out Mayweather LMAO!! GGG and his camp is full of shit! Ward would beat the breaks off GGG. Kovalev is a much more dangerous fight than GGG anyway. Got Em!!

I don't think Ward can beat the guy. If he could then he wouldn't have said let me get a tune up first and when GGG's guys gave him the name and number of who to reach if he was serious he would have done that. And yes, Kovalev is a more dangerous fight as it's against a guy who is similar in size or maybe even bigger (and we're not talking skills, etc, just size.)

Why does he even need the tune up? Floyd went on vacation for a year or so right? Came back and won his fight. Why does Ward need a thousand and one tune ups and catchweights (and complaining about the guy not making weight) if GGG is no threat?

GGG, hands down, is in the tougher division. The problem is he is CLEARLY being ducked, excuses are being made and the battles between promotions/networks makes it all problematic.

That's my point. He is "THE MAN" so everyone is going to call him out. But GGG is trying to get The Canelo vs Cotto winner (just read he is taking step aside money) and Lemieux (lol@Oscar saying they couldn't fight but the IBF calling his bluff.)

GGG = most ducked fighter in the last five years.

The Lara one doesn't make any sense since he can't fight on HBO. He wouldn't have anything to keep Golovkin off him any, too small and fragile for 160, not a fair fight.
