Oh yeah, I'll take Paul Williams over Margarito by UD in a rematch. Williams' jab is too much for Margarito. Cotto's jab was snapping Margarito's head back. Williams might jab Margarito til death.

4-sho... I weigh around 200 pounds right now. I don't think I can go 8 rounds though... more like 3. I blow the doe-doe and he does HEROIN.... just as long as the ref (naner) makes sure he's not packing any dirty needles we can go.
I actually don't do any drugs, so I'll go 12 with you, Tony. I'm at about 165, so get your fat ass weight down and I'll leave you looking like Cotto's wife and kids.

Just because I weigh about 200 doesn't mean I am fat... What's the catch weight? I probably could lose around 10 pounds, which means I could get down to around 190. You only weigh 165? See what the HEROIN does to you? Like I said it's whatever with me... we can go 12 you won't last anyway chump. You don't want it with me. I'll make you quit like Judah did against Clottey. I'll knock you out!

No accidental headbutt excuses either...

@06, I can't pace myself when I fight. I go for knockouts mayne...

Yuriorkis Gamboa-Marcos Ramirez - Gamboa's Toughest Test Yet On October 4th?

By James Slater: Unbeaten Cuban hotshot Yuriorkis "El Ciclon de Guantanamo" Gamboa is scheduled to take what could well be his toughest test so far as a pro in October. According to BoxRec.com, the 26-year-old featherweight/super-featherweight (Gamboa has boxed at both weights) is going to be taking on fellow unbeaten fighter, Marcos Ramirez of Kansas.

Currently 25-0(16) as a pro, the 27-year-old who, like Gamboa, has won a couple of small titles, just might give the former Olympic gold medallist a good argument. The main factor going against Ramirez will possibly be his inactivity. Not having boxed since May of last year - a points win over Adailton de Jesus (who also went in with Gamboa, being stopped in the 6th round) - the Kansas fighter may suffer from some rust when he gets in with the Cuban defector. Ramirez, who is also a fire-fighter when he's not boxing, suffered a tragic bereavement recently - the death of his young son. Having had only one fight since, no-one, not even Marcos himself, can be sure how the mental approach to his boxing will be affected in any future bout.

This aside, however, Ramirez is a decent, quality opponent for Gamboa. We all know how high the expectations are of Gamboa. Being called the single best prospect in all of boxing today by a good number of people, the 11-0(9) star in the making is expected to win not only one world title, but very possibly even more. Still, Gamboa is not invincible. We saw that in his last-but-one fight, against the experienced Darling Jiminez. Knocked down quite heavily in the 4th round, Gamboa got up quickly but was then taken ten full rounds for the first time in his career.

Ahmet Oener, the manager of Gamboa, was so disappointed with the performance of his fighter, he immediately fired his trainer - apparently doing so in the dressing room right after the fight. Since then, the unbeaten super prospect has brutally and sensationally taken care of former super-bantamweight contender Al Seeger - stopping him with a highlight reel KO in just one round - but the Jiminez fight proved there is still work to be done.

It's likely Gamboa will get the chance to learn a few more things in the October match. No, a quick KO can never be ruled out when Gamboa is in the ring - he is that powerful, that quick and that good. And let's not forget, the 26-year-old has already notched up five 1st round KO's this early in the game.

But if he's himself, his focus is all it should be and there are no demons present to haunt him, Ramirez figures to take Gamboa at least to the half-way stage. Never before stopped, the 27-year-old might even keep this statistic intact come October.

Clottey vs. Margarito II is The Right Fight For Boxing; Miller on Kings Hall Bill

By Mike Cassell -The Philadelphia Boxing Report - It wasn’t long ago that welterweight Antonio Margarito 37 – 5 (27 KO’s) was the most dodged boxer in the game. Well, he is going to have to move over, because the dodged will be doing some pretty nifty foot work of his own. With all the big money out there for the heir apparent to the Mayweather dynasty, Joshua “HITTER” Clottey 35 -2 (20 KO’s) will have to get in line and do all the things Margarito had to do to get his day in the sun. Although it was close for a while, and it ended because of an accidental head butt, it was only a matter of time before Ghanaian fighter Joshua Clottey would have knocked out Zab Judah.

Clottey is a stalking brawler who will fracture his knuckles, trying to break his opponent down, without ever thinking twice. That very thing happened back in 2006 when he faced Antonio Margarito in Atlantic City New Jersey. Although the Cotto knockout of Quintana got all the press, the fight between Margarito and Clottey was a spectacular battle. Clottey gave Margarito all he could eat, out punching Margarito for the first half of the fight.

A fractured right knuckle slowed Clottey down just enough to allow Margarito to win a 12 round decision. This was before Margarito lost to Paul Williams and he had that air of invincibility around him. He was the guy that no one wanted to fight. He was the underground welterweight that Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya were dodging, and it would be a cold day before he was holding all the cards. Well it must be snowing in Tijuana, because Margarito is shuffling a full deck, and the big names are making their way to the table. After beating Miguel Cotto into submission, he has further increased his reputation as the baddest man on the planet. Most will agree, but if you ask Joshua Clottey, he will just smile, and wait his turn. You see, Clottey knows Margarito very well. And while future opponents are being thrown about, Clottey’s name is mysteriously missing from the short list, and the long list. The IBF welterweight champion of the world isn’t even a consideration right now, and that’s not good for the welterweight division and it certainly isn’t good for boxing.

Maybe no one deserves a pass more than Margarito. He has had to take the back seat to the upper echelon for years, but what eventually got him to the very heights he achieved will be the only thing that keeps him there. That is a very good reason why he should fight Clottey soon. What made Oscar De La Hoya so great was not that he won every fight, because he obviously didn’t. He just fought everybody. If you had a belt and you were a challenge, De La Hoya wanted you in the ring. It is the reason why he is so popular today. His legacy is fully intact. Whether he fights Pacqioua or Margarito, it makes no difference. While Margarito is holding the cards, he should be very careful not to become the very thing he detests. Clottey is a world champion who deserves another shot. This is a very easy fight to make. Both fighters are with Top Rank and the true boxing fan who watched their epic battle in 2006, knows that this would be a tremendous fight, and if Margarito were to beat him again, a tremendous accomplishment.

A recent “Clottey Free” poll asked, who should Margarito fight next?

A. Paul Williams,

B. Oscar De La Hoya,

C. Floyd Mayweather,

D. Zab Judah

E. Miguel Cotto.

Yes, I said Zab Judah. All except Judah would be interesting, but let’s look a bit deeper. De La Hoya wants Pacqioua. The Paul Williams fight is good but not great. Floyd Mayweather is retired and Cotto simply wouldn’t mentally be ready to take that ride right away. Styles make fights, and two world champions with a stalking, punching style, and 473 combined rounds of carnage is the recipe for pugilistic brilliance.

Miller on Kings Hall Bill

The pugulistic arts return to Stoke’s Kings Hall on 13th September courtesy of local promoters Impact Boxing who are hosting their latest event at the venue. The evening’s proceedings will include seven scheduled bouts with local lads Scott Lawton and Scott Miller headlining once again.

Miller now successful in his first five starts in the professional ring has so far disposed of three of his opponents within the distance, the latest being Ade Adewole in the second round at Trentham Gardens in June. Consequently, Miller is fast becoming a firm favourite with the Kings Hall crowd and is already being tipped for honours in the sport.

Lawton with 23 wins 4 losses and 1 draw, remains one of the most technically gifted lightweights in the country and the Werrington fighter continues to seek a route to challenging for the British title once more.

Opponents have yet to be confirmed for both men and also for the other five boxers making up the home contingent. Kings Hall regular Jimmy Doherty and Werrington heavyweight Alex Ibbs complete the Potteries representation. Chris Goodwin, Paul Economides and Omar Gumati all of Chester complete the line

Margarito Should Fight Paul Williams, Says Schaefer

By Mark Vester

Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, finds it disgusting how WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams is being overlooked as a possible opponent to WBA champion Antonio Margarito. Since Margarito stopped Miguel Cotto on July 26, he's been calling for a fight with Oscar De La Hoya. Margarito's camp find it absurd that De La Hoya is moving forward with a potential bout with lightweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who would have to move up in weight to 147-pounds to make the fight.

Schaefer doesn't deny that a Cotto win against Margarito would have made him a strong contender to fight De La Hoya on December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He feels that Margarito should stop calling for De la Hoya and focus on his unfinished business with Williams, who beat him with a close decision in 2007.

"We have made it clear [to Top Rank] that we think Margarito has some unfinished business," Schaefer told Sports Illustrated. "Frankly, I find it disgusting how people are overlooking Paul Williams. Oscar wanted to fight Cotto because he was undefeated. But Williams beat Margarito."

"Just because Margarito beat Cotto, why does that make him the best welterweight? Why isn't it Paul Williams? He had that first round knockout of [Carlos] Quintana [in June] and he already beat Margarito. So I think it is very disrespectful of Williams. Those two [Margarito and Williams] should fight again."

Schaefer does forget that prior to the Cotto-Margarito bout, De La Hoya did tells reporters that a fight against the "winner" of Cotto-Margarito would be a "great way to end his career

LOL @ Clitoris gloves! HAHAHAHAHAHA fuckin' Manny is entertaining.

Tony! Who you got on Casamayor/Marquez and Katsidis/Diaz?

I have to go with Marquez, but that Katsidis and Diaz fight is interesting. I'm pulling for Diaz, but this is a huge test for him.

For the first time in years a worthy heavyweight PPV bout. I hope Haye knocks Wlad Klit the fuck out!

Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye Eyed For Early 2009

By Mark Vester

It appears the wheels are rolling the anticipated fight between IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and former cruiserweight champ David Haye, scheduled to re-debut at heavyweight in the fall. Klitschko is scheduled to defend his titles against IBF mandatory Alexander Povetkin, also in the fall.

Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, told Sports Illustrated that he's had talks with Shelly Finkel, business manager for Klitschko, about holding the fight in 2009 when both fighters are done with their obligations. Most have said the fight would land in the first quarter of the year. Finkel has a very close relationship with Golden Boy so both sides are confident a deal can be reached.

"I talked to [Klitschko business manager] Shelly Finkel and that fight is going to happen next year," Schaefer said. "After Wladimir finishes his mandatory fight, he is free, and so is David. So we will get a deal done."

Klitschko told the magazine that he's tired of Haye running his mouth and he's more than willing to give Haye the homecourt advantage by making the fight in England.

"He's been talking about me a lot," Klitschko said. "I want to fight him and shut him up. I think a fight in England would be special. I like it when the crowd is against me. I think I fight better."

Tony! Who you got on Casamayor/Marquez and Katsidis/Diaz?
Butterbean status? Ok, I see you got jokes now huh... It's all good though... me and you going head up is a mismatch anyway because I am over 200 pounds (and you're spaghetti legs) but I am far from butterbean status. I don't want to box with you because you haven't gotten under my skin like some of these dudes on here. Plus you're a Raider fan so it's all good! I just wish you would quit takin' cheap shots at me because I don't have a problem with you.

As for the casamayor/Marquez fight, I'll pick Marquez in that one. I am not familiar with Katsidis or Diaz...
