Should support any amount you want.

But also note that the more data the hard drive has,
the more chance you have for sectors in the drive going bad.
Which will cause it to most likely crash later down the road.

I wouldnt put more than a terabyte unless you plan on
downloading games from the store. If your just using disc,
500gb to 1tb should be more than enough.

try out newegg.com

Thats where i go when it comes to anything electronic.
If you subscribe for their newsletters.
They got deals going on every other day as well as send you
coupons from 5% off up to 25% on certain types of items.

Any of these would work.
basically any 2.5in drive.

Laptop Hard Drives - Newegg.com

But if you want the best you could want for the price.
Grab this one.
Seagate Momentus XT ST750LX003 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache 2.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Solid State Hybrid Drive -Bare Drive - Newegg.com

If you want something a little cheaper;
Newegg.com - Hitachi GST Travelstar 0S03563 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive

both have a 32mb cache with 6.0 Gb/s. at 7200 rpm.

I personally have had better luck with
seagate drives more than i have hitachi.

any notable differences on the ps3 using a non-solid state and solid state HDD? does it make a noticeable difference?

edit: nevermind...i searched youtube...i guess its really only noticeable for downloading games from the store
