Sony has confirmed that the digital rights management of PlayStation 4 software will be up to third-party publishers. Speaking on GTTV, Sony's Jack Tretton stated, "The DRM decision for third-party games will be up to publishers."

This clarification comes one day after Sony's E3 press conference this week, where Tretton stated that the PlayStation 4 "won't pose any new restrictions on the use of PS4 gamers." He continued, "We believe in the model that people embrace today with PlayStation 3."

Publishers of PS4 games, then, can do what's already done on existing PlayStation software: Limit or lock content behind online passes or redemption codes (or opt out of restrictions altogether), which differs from Microsoft's limited licensing of Xbox One software.

Sony's new cloud service will launch in 2014, Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House announced during the company's E3 press briefing. The service will allow players access to a library of "critically acclaimed" PlayStation 3 games using Gaikai streaming technology. It will initially be available on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and will launch on Vita sometime later.

And anybody else hear something about being a Playstation Plus member going on to the ps4 and getting drive club for free??

The $399 PS4 will have 500GB. As far as i know they haven't released details on other models. 500 sounds good to me I could connect an external harddrive if need be. 1TB external drives are hella cheap like around $50-$60.
Damn I got the 1st ps3 model of 160gb and still have yet to pass 100gb. 500 is more than I'll need

FYI it's been a few years where ps fan boys can brag.

Im kinda glad to see the capes fly, after getting destroyed by 2 systems last gen.

If the gaming industry went into shunning used games I'd be done for good. At 29 years old Ive been playing since Atari and when I got ms dos. I was typing in UFO.exe to play xcom at 8 years old.

2-0-Sixx - I seen that fight in your sig. I thought it would be ah good fight till the champ got knocked out in 3 mins.
I think it was more like a minute and a half! Pretty big upset being that Dawson was the lineal champ at 175 and Stevenson was moving up in weigh. Dawson before the fight called Stevenson nothing more than a tune up fight haha.

Mad Catz's extensive line of PlayStation 3 Tournament Edition FightSticks will not function with Sony's new PlayStation 4, Joystiq confirmed today with Mad Catz senior product development manager Richard Neville. "Playstation 4 will require a whole new set of peripherals," Neville said.

Currently, Mad Catz has announced that it is launching a new and improved Tournament Edition 2 FightStick for the Xbox One when that console is released sometime this year, but the peripheral manufacturer was unable to comment on the availability of future PlayStation 4 sticks.
