Got some free tickets this morning for a Smackdown House Show in Augusta, GA so I decided to check it out, turned out to be a pretty decent show. They pretty much had a b-roster out there but the crowd was still into it. Most of the matches turned out good, a couple were just ok though.
Match 1: Sin Cara and Tyson Kidd vs. Hunico and Camacho
Match of the night, all 4 tore it down, even when Camacho came in and just played power wrestler it was still dope, Cara and Kidd bumped like champs for him. Both Cara and Kidd had some crazy exchanges with Hunico that would've had ECW crowds marking out like crazy. Sin Cara gets the win after hurricanrana pin combo.
Match 2: Ezekial Jackson vs. Jinder Mahal
Decent match considering the participants. Mahal wins with the camel clutch
Match 3: Ryback vs. Heath Slater
Worst match of the night, Slater bumped a few times for Ryback, a ton of stalling, this went on for 10 minutes rather than just a squash. Ryback with the win. Ryback got a ton of "GOLD-BERG" and "You can't wrestle" chants.
Match 4: Damien Sandow vs. Richie Steamboat
Steamboat was over like crazy after Matt Striker announced him as the son of The Dragon. Sandow got some major heat after he was on the mic basically breaking down in detail why people in Augusta were so stupid for a good 5 minutes lol. Sandow wins after a good back and forth match with both guys getting good offense.
Match 5: Christian vs. Cody Rhodes for the IC Championship
Christian was crazy over with the crowd. Cody probably had the best heel heat of the night. Christian wins after killswitch, but wait! Teddy Long comes out and says John Laurinitis texted him and turned it into a best 2 out of 3 falls match with Jinder Mahal as the referee now. Cody immediately suckers Christian with a kick to the dome for a quick pin making it 1 - 1. Christian comes back, Cody accidently hits Mahal, Christian with the killswitch, new ref comes out Christian wins.
Match 6: AJ vs. Kaitlyn
Pretty shitty match, i'd lick AJ from head to toe though so that made it worth it.
Match 7: Kane vs. Great Khali
I felt really bad for Kane having to attempt to carry Khali to a watchable match. Kane actually had some decent offense, but Khali is just way too turrible and slow. Kane wins after a choke slam
Match 8: Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship
Del Rio got a good mix of cheers and heat, crowd went nuts for Sheamus. Pretty awesome PPV quality match, these dudes put on a show. Couple great near falls from both. Ricardo had some good interaction in the match. Sheamus wins with the brogue kick.
