WWE wrestlers Chris Jericho and Gregory "Hurricane" Helms were arrested early this morning in Erlanger, Kentucky on charges of public intoxication, reports PWInsider.com.

Jericho and Helms worked the Smackdown/ECW TV taping in Cincinnati, Ohio on Tuesday night before the early-morning arrest about 20 minutes away in Kenton County, Ky.

A few hours prior to the arrest, Jericho said on Twitter he was hanging out with Helms listening to music: "Listening to Zakk Wylde and having a GG contest with Hurricane. It's the woods vs the praries. Praires are winning."

According to Kentucky state law, an arrest is usually made when a police officer is suspicious of an individual when the person "appears in a public place manifestly under the influence of alcohol to the degree that he may endanger himself or other persons or property, or unreasonably annoy persons in his vicinity."

A first-time offense requires the individual to be booked at the local jail and be charged with a small fine, usually between $25 and $50.

KRS 222.990 reads: "A person guilty of alcohol intoxication, or drinking alcoholic beverages in a public place shall, for a first or second offense be fined not less than twenty-five dollars ($25)."

Caldwell's Analysis: It sounds like a minor offense worth a slap on the wrist, but it's another example of someone being arrested after apparently drinking with Helms. Last year, Christopher Daniels was arrested on drunk driving charges in North Carolina after having a drinking contest with Helms at Helms's house.

Matt Hardy
was among a group of people involved in an early morning incident that led to the arrests of Chris Jericho and Greg "Hurricane" Helms, this according to law enforcement sources.

Witnesses told cops Hardy was in a taxi with Jericho, Helms and several others Wednesday morning -- when Helms allegedly struck three people ... including one female.

Witnesses say Hardy took off on foot -- just like Helms allegedly did -- when the cab driver pulled over at a Kentucky gas station and called 911.

We're told Helms came back to the scene and was arrested -- but Hardy was gone for good. Cops are not pursuing any sort of action against Hardy.

As we first reported, the female passenger decided not to file charges against Helms over the alleged attack. Helms and Jericho were arrested for "alcohol intoxication in a public place."

Several WWE sources are saying that Gregory Helms did not strike Ashley Storer, the woman in the taxi.

Helms left the taxi and ran off when the driver stopped at the gas station and called 911. The backstage story goes that Matt Hardy was chasing Helms and trying to get him to come back.

The only other note is that C.M. Punk and Christian were said to be the two who posted bond to get Jericho and Helms released about an hour later.
LoL @ CM Punk bailing them out.

And isn't Matt Hardy the only one who didn't show back up? He chased down Helms to "come back" and then never came back himself?
