You're probably thinking of Ducktails. That's Matt Mondanile's (guitarist of Real Estate) other project. (Ducktails > Real Estate) Real Estate always has lyrics.

What Palmer said is probably what you are thinking. But for me it's Real Estate >> Ducktails. I still enjoy Ducktails and probably liked them more at first but a lot of it seems like ideas that didn't quite make a Real Estate album to me now, if that makes sense. To each their own though with opinions.
