Couple arrested for sex on queen's lawn
WINDSOR, England, May 1 (UPI) -- British police said a couple was arrested for having sex out in the open on the lawn of Windsor Castle, one of Queen Elizabeth II's primary residences.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the couple was issued a warning after their arrest, the Daily Mirror reported Friday.
"We can confirm that two people were arrested for outraging public decency and were subsequently cautioned for the said offense," the spokesman said.
Witnesses said the couple engaged in intercourse on the castle lawn, in full view of surrounding stores and hotels, for several minutes.
"I think it was going on for about 10 or 15 minutes, which is quite a long time, considering the location," an employee at the nearby Harte and Garter Hotel said. "People were shouting things like 'what are you doing?' but they really didn't seem to care at all. It was very funny."
Another witness, Mark Robinson, 44, said castle guards were watching the scene from windows.
"One window from the guardroom opened up and when a soldier saw what was going on he told his mates -- and lots of windows opened," Robinson said. "The couple did not care who was looking and just kept going as if they were in their own bedroom."
