Amp for 10w7?

US AMPS has a good one that is comparable to the JL 500/1 and for alot cheaper price. Look at the XT-1000D. This is also the sister site to RE AUDIO which is a really high end brand. This is also a mono block amp. JL can be tricky though as they can handle far more than there RMS states. 500RMS is what they claim, Im sure they can do 1000 easy but it will void the warranty and might blow not saying they will but it would be a chance. Ebay has them for 181.98 with free shipping. Guy is a power seller with more than 10 available and 99.4% positive feedback.

looks like a good price but 75 watts rms @ 4 ohms? i was told the w7s are 3 ohm so would a jl 500/1 that runs 500 rms at 1 to 4 ohms sound better or more spl? and i was thinking bout running 4 awg wire for the power i thought 8 would be pushing it for more then 300 400 watts .does 8 gauge power input mean i can only run a 8 awg or smaller?
oh man you are correct, it is a 3ohm sub. hmmm I am kinda stumped on that. I am having trouble finding a wiring diagram for a 3ohm. Let me do some more research on that. If SQ(sound Quality) is what you are after then I would run at a high ohm load. But with your sub a 3ohm sub Im not sure if you can run at 4ohm. I would call JL and ask them your wiring options. Im pretty sure 1.5ohms is an option but other than that I am not sure. if you go down to that load then this would put you in the SPL(Sound Pressure Level) range. In other words you would be going for just how loud it is rather than how good it sounds. Not all the time this is the case but most of the time. Now as far as what gauge wire to use.
