I dont agree. 2 Chainz, Asap Rocky, Big Krit, Coke Boys, Wayne, Drake, Nicki, Cole, Ace Hood, Wiz Khalifa, Taylor Gang, Main Attrakionz, Meek Mill, Rick Ross - just a handful of artists making noise. It might not be what you old heads are into but your generation isnt first in line anymore.

It's not. The Bay as a whole was nowhere near as musically active 10 years ago as it is today. Outside of Thizz ENT, what was going on 10 years ago? The Mob Figaz weren't really that active until around 2004-2007. Hiero and the rest of the Bay backpack scene excluding Zion I fell the fuck off the map.

There's a bigger diversity of artists right now... in the past, it used to either be mobb or backpack rap. Nowadays it's not at all like that anymore. You got people like Main Attrakionz, Los Rakas, Jealous Guys, etc. that did not even exist back then. And IMO Thizz ENT wasn't even that good... outside of Mac Dre, Johnny Ca$h, J-Diggs and one or two others, who else was consistently dropping good music?

While the Bay scene right now isn't as good as it was back in the early and mid 90's, IMO it's a lot better than what it was between 1998 and 2005 excluding a couple people like Mac Dre and San Quinn.

ASAP Goes hard. but some of those people u listed do not. Ace hood? cmon breh. Just seems now alot of artist are focused on putting shit out and getting a quick dollar rather than quality and the "Craft" of being a musician. Not all tho im saying in general

THERE HAS BEEN CLASSIC ALBUMS BACK IN THE DAY FOR SURE SOME OF THE OLD RAPPERS FROM THE 90S 2 NOW HAVE JUST AGED SO OF COURSE U WISEN UP THAT DOESN'T MEAN SIT DOWN. SOME GUYS ARE STILL DOIN IT E40 KILLA TAY CBO MESSY MARV QUINN AP9 JACKA YUK. CBO WAS RIPPIN IT UP IN THE 90S ALBUMS U WOULD THINK HE COULD NEVER REPEAT THEN HE HIT US WITH THE MOBFATHER IN 03 WICH WAS A CLASSIC ALBUM. NOWADAYS THERE IS ALOT OF MIXTAPES. THERE IS ALSO STILL GOOD MUSIC FLOATING AROUND GO 2 THE THREAD FOR BEST BAY ALALBUMS FROM 2000 2 2009 I GAVE 10 COULD HAVE GAVE 40 MORE AND THAT'S JUST THE BAY. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION ON THIS NO1 HAS 2 AGREE BUT IF YOUR STILL ON THE SAME SHIT AS BACK IN THE DAY U NEED 2 LOOK AROUND THINGS ARE CHANGING IN THIS DAY AND AGE. SO THE BEST CAN ADAPT 2 THAT. FOR THE BETTER I MEAN. SO AS FAR AS THE MUSIC ITS REALLY WHAT ARE U LOOKING FOR? WHAT DO YOU WANT? FROM 2010 2 NOW LET'S JUST SEE.

I think ONE (1) of the reasons is that the genre of rap/hip-hop is completely over saturated. To many people doing the same damn thing as well. That is bound to happen in ANY genre of entertainment/art but rap/hip-hop is particularly guilty of this.

Main Attrakionz next album (probably, who knows they release stuff out of nowhere a lot lol) that is named after that song, Bossalinis & Fooliyones, is getting a physical release on Young One records. They are considering it their debut full length I guess. I've been a Green Ova/Main Attrakionz fan for awhile now so it's dope to see Mondre and Squadda getting even more exposure and I'll be swooping it up for sure.

There is a "video" for that song too..

to much bullshit coming out now...
only one on the charts I buy or care about really is Tech N9ne...
Ice Cube... Yelawolf.... etc.. u know rappers.. that can actually flow..
and don't like like pussies with auto tune.. and wack voice and flow in every song...
oh yeah and Layzie Bone and Bone make stuff better than anything on the radio..
and Tech N9ne also.. thanks.

and music was better 10 years ago.. cause rappers used to have talent...
now my 10 year old cousin can do what these rappers do...

thank you

instead of telling me how dumb my statement was, why don't you tell me what was so much better about 2002 that you had to make a thread about it? this is such a played out ass topic that it's ridiculous. next thing you know, people are going to be chiming in with that tired ass "hip hop is dead" bullshit

according to my music collection, i currently have 130 hip hop titles that were released in 2002... and upon reading through them, i don't see ANYTHING that was particularly special... except for maybe common's album and talib kweli's album... care to elaborate?
