If I'ma support a mothafucka it's not because of their race, it's because they're dope. I support Los Rakas, AG Cubano, etc. because they made the effort to be unique and they take the music seriously... I don't listen to derivative ass rappers period which honestly described the song in the OP to a T. I'm not hating, I'm saying that the talent has to be there first.

Original and unique ain't the same thing... AG has a distinctive delivery and a flow that's a little different than most. There ain't nothing new under the sun anyway... I don't have a problem with rappers talking about the same shit everybody else does, it's more about how you're doing it.

Adding to what I said earlier though there ain't nothing wrong with having latin pride... all of the rappers I really fuck with are about representing themselves first. A big part of that is the pride of being who you are.

The thing about a lot of latino rappers that IMO turns a lot of people away from them is that a whole lot of them almost just seem to try to imitate what they think rap is supposed to be instead of pouring themselves into the art. A lot of the shit sounds soulless... if you ain't putting your soul into the music then what the fuck are you making music for?
