meh who cares. He gettin his money. At least he still makes features with independent artists and puts out an album that caters to the underground while doing songs with mainstream folks.

No offense but E-40 is making music the way he wants and his albums have sounded more bayish then anything so this thread makes absolutely no sense. How many rappers that been in the game as long as he has and is still relevant and have to make music that sounds like what is popular at the moment instead of doing things the way they want to do it? Hes not playing by the rules and #winning.

So you say he is main stream because he gets calls from big name artist that want to work with him? I would say that is a compliment to still have artist who want to work with you after all these years. Let me tell you 1 thing that i know for sure. 40 does not go into the studio and try to make a single anymore. He does the music that he wants to do period. He works with who he wants to work with on his albums.

This dude been killin it since the late 80s and is STILL getting calls from rap artists that are popular to this generation. His music is still good, I don't see what the big deal is...
