And here you go stereotyping an entire city again. You think every single person on the south side is fucking around on the block selling drugs? Do you even know why the youth is on the block fucking around in the first damn place? Because of exactly what we've been talking about - lack of resources, lack of education, lack opportunities, lack of everything.
Are you telling me that they are on the block selling drugs because of the socioeconomic system in place and not because they are black?

i'm talking about the youth. the ones who aint out there tryna prove a point to society and their counterparts are getting those bullshit entry level jobs, tryna create a work history.
....
so blame history for the future you choose? i grew up down the street from prostitution and a shit load of drugs to sell and take. every fucked city has a history of pushing colors to certain neighborhoods (left overs) while whites build new neighborhoods not allowing colors. that's probably new to you since you started to want to get involved and started reading. that's not news to a lot of other people who are from that.

you think just because you want to help that you really know what your talking about.
My friend--you absolutely cannot deny the influence of environment and the circumstances people find themselves in playing themselves out.
As much as you'd like to believe that you've proven that against all odds anyone can make it this is not the case. You made it because your particular environment permitted you to do so, just like as the statistics show, impoverished environments lead to impoverished family dynamics and the reverberation that comes with it.

I mean it is either because of poverty or because they are brown because these are the only two common denominators that I can find as patterns emerge..

blacks and mexicans both got it bad in similar and different ways. dont give me that shit.
Naw...someone has to give you that shit, cuz obviously you don't get it. Everybody has it bad. But only 1---has it the worst. And that fact is painful to admit, but we'll never heal without it.

And the truth is the truth---it does not matter who speaks it.

homeguy, of couse environnent and circumstance play a role. no one's denying that. thats different than someone making excuses why they cant "get out". there was a time when there were plenty of legit excuses. not no more.

my particular environment didn't allow me to get very far. i'm a 60 second drive from prostitution and the neighborhood i live in has teens getting killed and teens catching murder charges. i work from 3am to 6:30pm so i can "make it". sacrifice.

really? isnt 2-0 white? but he's speakin the real about minorities? and i was talkin bout blacks and browns from the git.

blacks and mexicans both got it bad in similar and different ways. dont give me that shit. i grew up around everybody and every circumstance 2-0 has read about. before he bought his first rap tape.
Oh OK so since I'm white and apparently because I read a lot that means I don't know what I'm talking about (first time I've been criticized for reading!). That's like the dumb NFL player who argues with a sports historian "but you never played ball though!" when they don't have a logical response.

How long have I been on the siccness. How long have I been preaching the exact same shit? 15 years? 20 years? I'm like the Bernie Sanders of the siccness in that regard, all these years same points I've been making.

Do you think when us people who study about revolution, who study socialism, who study social economics, and the evolution of all things that these very same principles and ideas can only be understood by a black person who grew up in the hood? This information is unattainable for anyone else?

Hispanic's have it better than blacks in Chicago. I could show you data but that's reading right? No point there. Never mind that I'm from Chicago, my family is from Chicago and so on. Sure, I wasn't born in cabrini green but I could tell you the history of it (there is that damn reading again!).

I think you may have just pivoted this discussion away from your original point being made towards mine.

Yes, you and I agree that environment and circumstance plays a role.
Yes, you and I agree that you were able to get yourself to a still shitty but better situation because of your can-do attitude.

But how can you admit that the system has fucked you so bad that you have to work 50x harder to get /50 what the next man has and still believe America is an equal opportunity playing field?

Am I missing something here? Stockholm syndrome? House nigga ideals?
Do you think that with diligence you can one day achieve the status of your master?

your ignorantly pointing out that i'm not in touch with reality. i'm pointing out that you only read to get your knowledge. that's cool, and nothing wrong with that, but again, your ignorance believes i'm not in touch which is fucking stupid. i grew up all around that shit you think you know about. i used to have to "comb" the grass before i played on it cus spooners would throw their syringes if the cops rolled by. and so on and so on. who gives a fuck. but thats in touch with real reality.

you brought up Chicago as an example. thats not what the whole discussion is about and you know it.

And you commented on Chicago saying "they don't have McDonald's, taco bell, colleges etc" going on about placing the blame on the poor, hence me stating you're ignorant and out of touch with reality (if you truly believe there are opportunities for the youth in S. Chicago).

Don't act like you're the only person who's had it rough man and that the only data I've collected in my life is through books, as if I don't have life experience and my own personal struggles and hell.

We can go back and forth on this and I understand what you're trying to say by if you work hard, dedicate yourself you can rise above it, I get that, what I'm more interested in is the cause and the effect and how to change it, how to evolve so that we as a society don't have third world living conditions inside of the richest nation on earth.

explain that.

who the fuck says the system is fair? what part of life is fair? where did i say any of that dumb shit?

do you think i'm trying to achieve the status of my "master", which is the top 1%? i'm not trying to get there. 99% of America won't get there. white or any other color. i am where i am today because of my parents decisions. then when i was old enough to make my own choices, i made my own decisions based on how i saw life. now that i'm older and fucked my self in many ways, and soaked in bad views that my parents and the rest of the community may have had, i'm making decisions and sacrifices to get me to a better place, which is achievable. i'm not trying to have a billion dollar company. you know there's a huge space to live in between hopeless poverty and being in the top 1%. you only see the extremes.

ok there's no opportunities in South Side Chicago.

who the fuck says i'm the only one who had it rough? again, i'm just pointing out that i'm in touch with reality, since you claim i'm not. you are in touch with literature. i'm sure you had personal struggles. like everybody in the world, rich or poor. but i doubt yours are relatable to what your fighting for.

you already know the cause. the white man (obviously not all of you, or even remotley close to a large percentage of you) pushed color people to certain areas. didn't want to hire them, kept them down, generations and generations, blah blah blah. the cause was elitism, the effect is what this thread is about. how do you evolve? evolve your fucking mind. you think white lefty ass Democrats are helping color people evolve their mind? give me an example of that? it seems like they just want color people to stay the fuck down. do all these white lefty Democrats systematically try to keep colors down? i don't think so, but i think most of them are ignorant as fuck and have guilt built up and think they are helping, when really they are piling on excuses and keeping color people in a shackled mind.

A college degree is the equivalent as a high school degree was 40 years ago. For the most part, just having a college degree doesn't separate you from the field of job seekers. It is more like a basic, minimum requirement.
I figured as such, you just worded it in a manner that didnt seem right.

Also, a GED is just as good as a HS diploma these days. So there is that.

The main fallacy i see in your argument is that you have to be a minority to be from "the bad part of town".

So what have you done to change it besides "read" and "study" while posting fictitious data charts to solidify your opinions or are you simply just a poser? I'll wait.
