A man whose name sounds more like something R2-D2 would say is accused of allegedly assaulting a Thurston County sheriff’s deputy and an Evergreen State College police officer.
Beezow Doo-doo Zopittybop-bop-bop, 34, has been arrested on two counts of assault as well as malicious mischief and malicious harassment. He’s being held on $50,000 bail.
The Olympian reports Zopittybop-bop-bop, whose given name was Jeffrey Drew Wilschke, was seen tearing down flyers at the college. The police officer chased him down and struggled with him. Zopittybop-bop-bop allegedly tried to grab the officer’s gun, but his finger, and tried to stab the officer with a pen. The officer tried using a Taser, but the suspect ran away.
The deputy reportedly chased Zopittybop-bop-bop, who allegedly threw rocks and a brick at the deputy, one of which struck him. After evading another Taser attempt, Zopittybop-bop-bop was arrested with the help of a second deputy.
Zopittybop-bop-bop’s name, and criminal history, have placed him in the news before. He was arrested in Wisconsin in 2012 and Iowa in 2013 on drug possession charges.
USA TODAY reported in 2013 Zopittybop-bop-bop has been in and out of the mental health care system and diagnosed with schizophrenia, which he disputes. He has said that he suffers from depression and post traumatic stress disorder from the abuse he suffered on the streets while homeless.
Zopittybop-bop-bop has said his name represents, in part, "the explosion of awareness of the interconnectedness of the infinite love in the universe."
