Sometimes the best albums take the longest to come out. After much anticipation Turf Talk’s long awaited sophomore album is finally here, but is it worth the wait?
When asked about The West Coast Vaccine Turf says he tried to do something “different” on every track. The result is an album that will undoubtedly build momentum and one day be spoken about with the best in the Sick Wit’ It library. Not only does Turfy experiment with different styles over beats from the Bay’s heaviest producers, Rick Rock, Traxamillion, EA-Ski and Droop-E, but he gets personal with his (Pomona) Southern California roots on “Back in the Day featuring Kartoon and Jelly Roll,” revealing a flow that could bring back LA.
Refreshing to the ear, a mixture of creative formula’s and a new found focus is the perfect chemical combination to cure the West Coast drought. How about a double album next? With disc one featuring a sick LA bounce, and disc two revealing a fresh V-town potion.
