I'm just going to run FL Studio and VST plugins mainly interms of audio. A few other apps like Photoshop, Adobe Audition, Traktor/VirtualDJ, Open Office and the internet of course. Seems like a solid deal to me. Not to mention, it's small as hell so it takes hardly any space at all. I personally haven't seen a computer with specs as good as this and at a price like this, lately. I just stumbled across it today while shopping at Cosco.

Does it come with the monitor? I might have to pick up one of these myself.
No, but you can pick up a solid monitor for like $250. Maybe even less if you really look. I guess it just depends on what you want, size, resolution,etc...

The only thing I didn't like about that little computer was that the front bay, where the USB slots, head phone jack, flash card and few other inputs hide, it's a bit cheap. Seems like it can break off the hinge cuz it's all plastic. But whatever. It actually seems like it cools nice too. One side of it is basically completely open to air because it's like one huge vent with a bunch of little holes.

At Cosco it was hooked up to this monitor:

Not bad at all for 1080P and 23"

Thats pretty decent. My dreams of Music Production glory got cut short when my laptop died. I was trying to do too much and it crashed so now I'm looking for an afford desktop with lots of space so i can get back on my music game.

I'll never fuck with a PC again after buying a top of the line Dell and not have a single one of my programs properly work on it

maybe when 64 bit vista drivers are more stable it would be a good pick, currently you would probably have a ton of compatability issues

I can't say the same. I've had success with HP. Never had a Dell or Gateway though. Had an e-machines one time and that shit sucked, but that was back in the days when 10gig HDs were amazing. haha

Anyways, what programs didn't work for you because of that 64bit? I will be running typical programs, FL Studio, VST plugins, Photoshop, Audition, Traktor, virtual DJ, Open Office,.... and hook up my external WD 320gig HD and M-Audio Axiom 49 Midi controller.

I had a ton of compatability issues starting with the sound card, i have 2 and niether worked. NI Maschine didn't work properly either. I got a bunch of other stuff that i never tried installing since i couldnt ever get any sound out of the computer i bought from Dell

I'm mac 4 life now, all that bullshit i dealt with with dell made me a believer. Working with Logic is kind of a bitch though, every session comes a new quirky problem i have to work around.

The fact your computer did not work was your fault. You were given tons of advice and told by several people specificially to not buy a dell. You were directed to where you could learn more and build an even more powerful pc for a fraction of what you were paying and you didn't heed.

@BooBoo, buy at your own risk. Aside from macs, I never suggest people by prebuilt machines for music, so if you're going to do this make sure the apps you're running are fully compatible with not just the o.s. but the hardware.

I don't think I've ever even seen a power supply under 300W.

That's all you get! If you plan on upgrading and adding additional hardware, forget about it. That explains the 220W Power Supply
