How much were these when they first came out? 399??? What would you pay for one now? I'm about to get back into the beats.

Merry Xmas!

The Mophatt is decent. Not really on par with newer sound modules like the fantom or motif. Got some dope drum kits in it though. To me it seems like a bunch of oneshots rather than mutli-sampled instruments. It does have some good e-pianos too though. all in all if you want something cheap I would say go with like a 1st edition motif rack. Those go for pretty cheap on craigslist. And if you really want a mophatt I kno emu has a virtual version of it you can get along with the proteus.

I just missed out on a Mo phatt on ebay.It sold for under 120 shipped. lucky bastards!! They have another one listed for $499 :cheeky:

I need to look at the fantom & Motif racks. Still want a Mo Phatt though!I'm going to use it with a Boss DR-5 drum machine. My friend already has a fantom so I probely won't get that unless it's cheap as hell.

yeah but they sound so much better coming out of the machine. mo phatt has a very nice sound all its own with pretty good filters and fx. and for 120 shipped? thats a steal. i have the mo phatt soundfont sets but they dont compare to the real thing. i think the mo phatt was 800 or so when it came out maybe even more.

i paid 400 for mine and sold it 2 years later for the same price.

I've used both the free sound-fonts on the internet and the licensed vst. The Vst sounds decent but it takes alot of cpu compared to other shit I'd like to use like fm8. I like the drums for making funk tracks, and alot of the bass sounds are usable.

this thread inspired me to check out ebay ive seen them as low as 120 with free shipping. if you like to collect gear you cant pass that up unless you find a proteus module with the phatt rom in it.
