She lives her days with no limits-
And hopes for the day when his pain will deminish-
He's coped with the pain and the way of living
And prays forgiveness for his daily sinning- even still-
It seeming God hates him- by the way that he's plagued his
Seasons- Like he wants demons to break him-
But he claims he's his savior- like he doesn't favor- reason-
Only his personal tailored- fairytale of Jesus-
She just wants to save him-
Cant stand to see him- incased in such pain as-
She lives in her haven-
Sliding in bed beside him- she looks from his eyes and-
Sighs a broken-hearted promise-
"I'll save you daddy, honest."-
But all the King's doctors and all the Kings nurses-
Didn't have cures for God's curses-
And he seemed to worsen each day she spent searching-
His hurting haunting her like a Raven perching-
Hurling threats of Nevermore at all of her imploring-
Life implying her dad will die one sordid morning-
Soon- new memories will cease and be entombed-
And she'll have just reveries of dad seeing her bloom-
Consumed by truth she knew he wont walk her down the isle-
He'll never see her rise- and she'll never see him smile-
He'll never meet her kids- she'll have to plan his service-
And breaking down she raised her fist exclaiming-
"WHY DO I DESERVE THIS?!"-
Then feeling selfish now along with helpless- she assessed it-
Felt her grief, repressed it- and prepared for his questions-
"What's wrong?"..."How long are they guessing?"-
She answered, "Cancer, and six months is a blessing."
And she held him as he wept- and she wept with him-
Insisting she'd be with him every step til death should grip him-
He listened to physicians and took all of the treatments-
And by week six he was too weak to eat half-decent-
And by week nine he was clearly dying though they tried-
She spent most her nights beside him trying not to cry-
The night he died she died inside, she was sitting by his side-
She closed his eyes and closed his door and finally she cried-
... and cried... and cried...
And still the pain did not subside- And in time
Shed try to stop her thoughts but her brain would not abide-
