Roethlisberger hires prominent attorney
ATLANTA -- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has hired a high-profile Atlanta defense attorney as police investigate a Georgia woman's claim he sexually assaulted her.
Roethlisberger has not been charged. Police say a 20-year-old college student reported the assault after an encounter with Roethlisberger at a nightclub in central Georgia.
Meanwhile, the assistant for attorney Ed Garland confirms that he is representing Roethlisberger. Garland previously represented rapper T.I. on a federal weapons charge and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis in a murder case.
More serious charges against Lewis were dropped and he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor obstruction of justice charge.
The Steelers, who had previously withheld comment as they gathered information, released a statement Monday.
"All of us in the Steelers family are concerned about the recent incident involving Ben Roethlisberger in Georgia," team president Art Rooney II said in a news release. "We cannot comment on any of the specifics until law enforcement's investigation is concluded. Certainly, we will continue to closely monitor the situation."

As the investigation regarding the sexual assault allegations against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger continues, KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reports that Roethlisberger has conceded having "sexual contact" with the woman who claims sexual assault, but that there was no intercourse.
The admission apparently came during an interview of Roethlisberger conducted at the scene.
Per the report, Roethlisberger claims that the woman fell and injured her head after the incident. She then went to a hospital and alleged that she was sexually assaulted.
WHAT THE FUCK???? Did she fall after taking his load or what?? just doesnt make sense. Big Ben IS guilty of being stupid. why the fuck is a 2 time super bowl champ qb going to college bars for??????? that alone shows some bad choices when paired along with motorcycle accident etc...

Bureau spokesman John Bankhead said Wednesday that he could not comment on a statement by Ed Garland, an attorney for Roethlisberger who told The Associated Press on Tuesday night that the bureau withdrew its request a week ago.
Roethlisberger is accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old college student at a nightclub in Milledgeville on March 5.
Roethlisberger has not been charged, and Garland has disputed the assault claim and hired his own team to investigate.
