the ultimate credo of capitalism is the 'invisible hand'
the idea that if everyone works and buys... the market will even out for the best olf all
which it does
whilst the communist economy supports you for a couple generations, and then starves your grandkids

discuss and debate

In any case, most corporate heads are not inhuman, many in fact are quite humanitarian, as well as being intelligent and good with their money
look at Bill Gates... sure he drove the other companies out of business, but what else is a businessman supposed to do?
I'd kinda like to see how Bill Gates would do as a dictator... He could probably take Zimbabwe and make it a world power...

What did Bill Gates to that was so great? He stole other people's ideas?

So if he was a dictator in Zimbabwe, he would steal other countries recources?

Bill Gates has donated more money that you and I will ever see in our lifetime. Look at his donations for school's, libraries, and other education needs in the U.S. Bill Gates donated $100million at once to fight AIDS (outside the U.S.). Check all of what he did for India. Look up The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I would guess that he has donated well over a billion dollars to fight disease (he has expressed great concern for disease in this world) and to strengthin our education.

He did steal an idea or two, but would you not do the same if you would eventually become one of the richest men in the world?

I’m not really interested in discussing Bill Gates, but I know there are a lot of reasons why he does donate to certain organizations that actually benefit him in the long run. Personally, I think since he IS the richest man in the world he should do more, but that’s just my opinion.

”He did steal an idea or two, but would you not do the same if you would eventually become one of the richest men in the world?”

Well, first off if my memory is correct, didn’t he steal ideas from one of his buddies? To me that’s fucked up and goes against my personal morals. If I am wrong and it wasn’t his buddy, I still couldn’t take credit and make billions off of someone else’s idea. Second, never in my life have I ever dreamed or fantasized about becoming one of the richest men in the world. Sure, I could do a lot of good if I did have that kind of money, but I’m sure I wouldn’t be one of the richest men for very long.

The way the story goes (from what I have seen and been taught) is that Steve Jobs (the "buddy") was never his friend, but his competitor during the race to shelve computers. Steve Jobs had the market cornered with his product (apple) and was already becoming a giant while Bill Gates was struggling with Microsoft. Bill Gates made a business proposition to Jobs which would bring Microsoft and Apple together for what could be the biggest business venture ever. Once the release of their computer/operating system was going to be made public, Gates had already released his own product which was designed by the both of them, but based on what Steve Jobs had initially done with Apple. The concept of what he did is not far off from a hostile takeover from one corporation to another which is completely legal if I'm not mistaken. What Bill Gates did is fucked up, but very smart if you think about it. They are both wiping there ass with money anyways, so what does it matter if Gates is doing it with 100's and not 50's.

there has never been a communist country that has come close to being successful. communism is a great theory, but it is just one of those things that doesnt work. its like having a purely physical relationship with a girl...it seems like a good idea, but sooner or later the feelings get in the way and it just doesnt work

Wow. I never heard that before. "Communism is good in theory". Hmm, I bet you have just heard that so many times that you actually believe it. Do you know what communism really is? Please, give us some specific details on WHY it would not work.

capitolism?....didn't that die out in the 60's?

better open ya eyes, the US is a socialist country, has been for decades...with a "freedom" stamp on it's doormat...
