The sun dies for three days around December 21/22, the winter solstice.

It moves South, and is resurrected on December 25th, when it continues to move North.

The calendar begins with Virgo in many areas, which is where they got the idea of being "born of a Virgin," which refers to the SUN/son, Jesus.

The sun is the "Light of the World."

The sun "cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him."

The sun rising in the morning is the "Savior of mankind."

The sun wears a corona, "crown of thorns" or halo.

The sun "walks on water."

The sun's "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.

The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High"; thus, "he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.

The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30°; hence, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30.

The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified," which represents its passing through the equinoxes, the vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected.

The Christian religion is based on astrology, as are many of Earth's religions...YOU PAGAN BASTARDS!!!

Many religions have holidays based around the soltices and equinoxes.... its nothing new that they share this commonality. The winter soltice is particulary a big one in many religions, this does not mean christianity is a pagan religion, rather that it only adopted things from religions that were being practiced at the time when the religion was born. Such as celebrations at times of soltices and equinoxes.

Good point, perhaps the holidays were placed around these times to become more widely accepted, and ween people from pagan beliefs into christian beliefs.

but in reality this "corona" actually is not a "halo" as it exists all over the surface of the sun.
